hey mushboy i asked in the cultivation photo thread but ya never replied- I'm wondering how you did your pan cambos? Said you mixed a couple shoeboxes with just coir, did you have poo in the mix somewhere prior to spawning the shoeboxes?
I was under the impression that all pans required poo to fruit and I'm just trying to plan for a pan cambo grow using a print I've had for a long time.

Poo-free Pans Just not very big. Not big at all. In fact, tiny. Very tiny. Still potent

hmmmm interesting... why is it always said that its required then? Is it a low chance of fruiting, or just always tiny fruits?

I've searched quite a bit on pan cambos actually and I haven't seen any threads posted about using non-poo subs to grow. Everything I've read has involved dung...

Trying my first "shoebox" (actually a 20qt mono, same method) right now. I've had modest success with fruiting cakes, but wanted to branch out. 1/2 brick Coco coir 2c earthworm castings 2qt verm I did the bucket/cooler Tek and held everything at temp for about 2hrs.
Here's where I may have messed up. I inoculated with two 8oz cakes ground up with a cheese grater. The cakes looked good, but I think I used too little spawn, maybe? Right now it looks like it's growing--lots of white fuzz and threads branching out, but it's moving slowly. Can't wait to see the outcome though.

Yea 2 cakes is not really enough for that much substrate... If u were using grains, even 2 qts of grain would be on the low end.
If u want fast colonization, use 4 qts of spawn for a half brick of coir/Verm/castings. Next time u should still get something from those 2 cakes.
