Sometimes it's easier to twisr and oukk sometimes s knife is easier.
Sometimes teksr and oukk they come right off sometimes they're a bit more stubborn and pull sub.
Sometimes the canopy is dense and teist in pull is a pain in the ass and the knife is quick and easy.
I usually twist and pull when possible, knife is like what I do if I have problems.

Update on my first shoebox I will be harvesting when I wake up in the morning.

What is an average size cube? The tallest on in this tub is barely 3". I am having a hard time getting what I feel is average size fruits. I have done a couple mini mono grows and one shoebox and all around 2.5/3 inches. With two different var. also? Not complaining just seems like I am missing something or doing something wrong.

Great looking flush buddy. I dont know what average is because so many get big, it's completely genetics I carry two cube cultures on slant right now one is fast colonizing grows 3" fruits that are pretty meaty flushes look a lot like yours nice clusters but same like you I want cool stuff sometimes so I have another clone from MS that is slooooow and fruits in smaller clusters but they're all behemoths one time I fruited a mono in the dark and all the fruits were for real like 8" long and kinda thin and stalky but still a nickel diameter u know, other times it's my whole hand 35g wet monsters. It's all genetics
Imo after fruiting soemthing several times you know it's variances from which dikaryotic mycelium took dominance in this cluster over here in this sub type at this temp etc. And like in my case maybe if I isolates I could end up with only the 35g monster genetics and ditch the skinny genetics that are crossing with them and making them the 8" stalky monsters.
I'm your case if it always fruits small or medium size fruits then there maybe no large fruit genetics in it, which is a shame bc it has nice pinset genetics.
So if you keep fruiting it and still want bigger you would need to go back to spores, maybe maintain Two like I'm doing until I have the time to go back to spores and make another strain that has both size and pinst.
Man this sativas good I'm rambling. The reason I'm here is I dunno how many diy people out there or professionals but it's just kismit that I need something to spawn a small pan cyan batch in and this morning I'm finishing up a big box of drywall screws

I think lid on it would still have the fae of your shoeboxes with lid on. And these are the bulk packs we buy to save money anyway.
How neat.
Have a good day everyone

Great info in here. Had some extra spawn and coir left over from some tubs and ran into this nugget of a thread and put together 2 shoeboxes. At $1 a piece and small enough to put anywhere, why isn't everyone doing these?

Shoeboxes really are great. The only issue I have after getting really into them is that now I have so many freaking shoebox tubs... I go back and forth between liking the simplicity of one big tub vs a bunch of smaller

PE shoebox weirdos. Turned out to be a nice first flush.

I have to say, with this run being my first go at PE,I am happily surprised with how well they perform. I never ventured into trying to grow them in the past, because of the novelty/difficulty that I was "warned" about, but so far these PE have given me some of my best weights.(equal to if not more than the 70g wet per half pint cake spawned average I get from my "normal" cubes) Now,onto APE.(jars colonizing at the moment)

So this is two days after spawning. Probably shouldn’t have opened the lid for a picture but wanted to see what you guys think. It seems like I’m getting some aerial growth is that normal? Pics kept refocusing so they aren’t the best quality

Looks fine, just put the lid on and let it colonize, don't worry about anything

Just got back from my trip! Sub was pretty dry so I bottom watered and look at these fatties just a few days later. What do yall think.. Should I go ahead and pluck them all? Some of the caps are splitting, but the stems dont look like a ball sack just yet (which is when I read you should pick PE)
