whats going on with whatever that fuck is up with that? too many problems for this thread.
id post a new thread and ask for tips. because the tray deserves it own post:sad:
hurray for some shrooms.. ..but you can do a heavy mist opposed to a dunk.. but id toss that.

if doing a GH, id use a more shallow tub. otherwise just flip the totes lid/crack it and toss the GH. just my 2cents. nice shroomies

Maybe the box photographed weird? Any odd discoloration can be attributed to dropped spores. I'll go ahead with a heavy misting like you suggested and take any further questions OUT of your thread.  :whiteflag:

Thanks Mush, I actually use 10×20 double thick seed trays for the bulk of the runs I didn't want to cliff this up with unrelated bs, the shoebox was used for small batch yield tests. Great thread you have here man, shows how simple it all can be.

The pic of the ropey growth is another shoebox I got going. It's the only one that looks like that.

Sorry to bump. Looks like some of the veils are breaking already. Fruits are always small with this variety, seems like I provided good conditions and the spawn was inoculated with a 3rd transfer dish from spores from my last grow.

Is my best bet for bigger fruits to take a tissue sample to agar from a healthy one that I see, grow that out and transfer fastest leading edge growth from each dish?

I know that more water equals bigger fruits in a sense so not much should be expected from shoeboxes but compared to the rest of the pictures on this thread I was expecting a bit more. The dense clusters are pretty but in comparison to cakes it seems the same.

That being said it's nice to see my first shot at grain spawned to coir be somewhat successful.

id say it was extremely successful. use what you learn and apply it to a large mono..
its easier to control something small and scale up the materials as you learn and 'grow' as a grower..

Some more boxes. The last one really wants the light lol they've been blocked by another tub, still looking good tho.

My first shoebox came out to about an ounce and a half dry for 1.5qt of spawn on the first flush. I don't really care for second flushes with these. From inoculating jars with BLI, to spawning and harvest took 21 days. At 1oz of dry shrooms to 1qt jar of oats I'm happy as fuck with 20+ jars in rotation, more than I'll ever need
