nothingtohide said: hey guys! So this is my first ever shoebox! This is also my 2nd grow, my first being BRF cakes. So I am very happy with how these turned out. But could have dialed in better. I for sure have to give thanks to all the shroomery family, spreading knowledge and love. how should I go about dunking my baby?
edit: im so sorry this looks like this. i ate my babies a while ago and I cant figure it out
Hey dude. Just take the sub out carefully and place on the lid. Fill up the bottom of the shoebox with water and place your sub back in and let sit anywhere from 2-12 hours depending on how thirsty it is. You can put something on it to weigh it down, but I think the sub will absorb the water either way. Once hydrated drain the water out of the corner of the tub and make sure you get most of it out or it could cause bacteria. Sometimes I’ll drain, then lift the sub out just to make sure I get all The standing water out.

I have these boxes roughly a foot away from one 6500K CFL. Is this too close you think? It's around 68-70 degrees in the room at all times.

Fill em up with water for a couple hours then dump the excess. Bottom water with 1/4 to 1/2 cup. Or mist really heavy. Imo it doesn't matter how you rehydrate, it just matters that you do.

I've been reading up on fuzzy feet but is there a way to help take the current shit down? It says how to fix it just not the current effected mushrooms. They seem to have halted in growth because the mycellium is just trying to reach better fresh air right? Just a thought on it because they slowed down from what I initially seen from when they first began to grow. Sounds plausible? This was just 1/2 pint wbs to a qt of substrate. I don't think I will get more than 3 flushes.

Gonna dub these little fellas today, they're getting tall and a little more air wouldn't hurt.

Lol just do one single mist a day if needed, that's what I do to curb my misting desires haha and it keeps it simple and keeps me from accidentally matting the top. Remember that misting is just supposed to help with pinning, not hydration

Thanks for the advice I guess I will just leave it be until I get it right next time. I just want it focused on growing out the mushrooms not the mycellium. I have pins growing in the fuzzy feet.

After months of trich and other contams, and lethargia on my part, I finally have a few shoeboxes that look good enough to post:

One box worth, ready to dry ( came to around 15gs dry):
