you can g2g with an many jars as your want. but the more grains you use/fewer jars involved the quicker they colonize.
you will find yourself going back to agar once you do a big grow. you will need a break after the first time you juggle multiple totes and a few hundred glass jars.
agar work tends to get out of hand quick, but in all the best ways.

in fact i started using shoeboxes because i had extra spawn jars lying around and i had no more room for further expansions/monos. so i said let me just fruit these solo in small trays and i really, really like growing that way. more than monos. not that they arnt fun but monos is like chugging whiskey. you can get burned out.

I'm paying a lot more attention to this guy. 2-4 mistings a day. I think it looks good.

Hey all, hope all is well..
I nocced up 10 jars with Syringe, did everything correctly except for one thing.Today I just realized (after 4 - 5 days) that I never shook up the jars after removing them from the PC to distribute moisture content, and today I noticed half of the grains in the jar were bone dry looking and the other half had proper moisture, so I shook them all up really good.
Did this fuck anything up? did they sit there bone dry for too long? There was a tiny bit of myc growth going on, but not very much, hopefully shaking it this soon before 30% colonization didn't muck things up. Lemme know

I've been waiting a long time for today,
I just made my first batch of CVG and used 4 PF cakes to make 2 aluminium trays and 2 5l Shoeboxes.
Was quite exiting and I'm ecstatic to try bulk. I hope at least 1 has a good few flushes.

Thats incredible. is this a problem for like 3-5 flushes? I cant imagine it could eat the tray that quick
I dont have a camera good enough for pics. I should rectify this.

First shoebox harvest! It's not coming in completely even, but many pins coming in still. Bottomwatered to keep it plenty hydrated for this large flush.

thick cluster in that hand . shoeboxes always seem to put out dense clusters for me
sometimes the pinset can shit the bed..
but even this one had 30gram dried in that dense fucking area. i took clones

nice! Yeah, oddly enough this box shot up a few mushrooms ahead of time that opened their caps at a cm tall and didn't grow anymore so i thought the box was gonna be a bit of a dud. Next thing i know there are pins everywhere and it's flourishing.
I also just swapped to LED lighting and the mushrooms are definitely growing a bit differently. They look super happy and the color of the cap seems darker.
Also have these two "APE" Tubs coming in. These came from a swab i put to agar, so far i don't see a single albino, but these definitely look like PE to me. First time working with this variety, I also have some beautiful PE on agar from a vendor that i put to oats recently and a ms->1 qt oat -> shoebox i spawned a couple days ago. Looking forward to working more with these varieties. Have a handful of AA+ shoeboxes knotting up right now as well! I'll post pics when things start coming in

that can be a sign of contams(its good right?) or a over saturated substrate.
always be on the drier side. adding extra moisture is easy. removing it is hard.
aa+ is the shit. i love em!

I think the sub was a bit more wet than it should have been. The CFLs i was running seemed to be drying it out so i made the sub extra moist. Hoping the swap to LED's will make it a bit easier to dial in correct sub moisture.
This is my first experience with AA+ as well, very exciting working with new, unique varieties. I also have some Golden Halo on agar atm i'm excited to work with. And my Tampanensis box is poking through much of the casing now, hoping for fruits soon.

That tub looks great. It's getting ready to explode with pins.

Make sure to keep the surface conditions good now though. Keep the surface looking like this.
