unless your tubs are 100% airtight sealed up? everyone 'fruits' at spawning to a degree anyway imo. cheap plastic totes are not airtight. they fruit themselves.

Good morning shroomery!!!!!
So far 2 boxes fuited b+ and one gt box!!!
The b+ first flush seemed small, 2 boxes did 150 wet with fruits here and there.
This gt box is So much more impressive, but also had 1 1/2 inch sub / spawn where the other boxes (b+) where filled half way to the line.

Would y'all harvest all of this or just the ones that opened??
Thanks everyone. I love this place!!!

Well I managed to get another harvest today after leaving some fruits to mature yesterday never in my wildest dreams did I expect to pull another 239g out(some will be verm) So in total first complete flush gave me 450g
That's from one small jar (500g bologese jar) And an uneven surface.

Things to note when picking the mushrooms, I'm struggling with the scalpel as they are very dense and I have fat hands, when twisting and pulling alot of sub is coming up, messing up the layer even more, is this the sub being too dry or is this normal and I should stop whining like a bitch

I usually will put my second hand around the base, holding down the substrate, as I twist and pull with the other hand. Helps any big chunks to remain in the sub that otherwise are attached to the fruit.
Iβve heard that dryer subs tend to not have as much substrate come up as wet ones for what it is worth.

I agree with this. Just as a wet substrate will be more likely to fall apart if lifted from the box or whatever, it does seem to come with the mushrooms easier.
For most fruits, especially larger ones, I find grabbing the base of the stem and pressing down gently while twisting helps. You can often get an idea of which direction of twisting or pulling will give the least resistance.
I tried cutting at the base with one box, but did not like it. It looked ugly after, and smelled weird the day after the harvest. Plus I'd rather damage my substrate than oxidize the mushroom more than necessary.

I used to twist and pull the shrooms but now I just cut at the base with a scalpel, it saves time, looks better, and imo it disturbs the little mushrooms still growing wayyy less!

You seem to have missed the part where I said my tubs arenβt getting scratched? Iβm not using steel wool or sandpaper lol. Soft plastic bristles donβt scratch plastic. You trippin.

K.i.s.s. Water and soap. Water alone works just fine.
