There is a ceiling fan in the rooms as well as small desktop fan that pretty much run 24/7. As well as two windows that provide a decent amount of natural light.

My mono seemed to love it.

Pretty much the only spot I have for them now. I cant afford having my buddies stumble onto them if they need to stay in my spare bedroom. :frown:

It's not even that. It's just a small town and would like to keep this operation covert.

Hey mush, when you fruit these at spawn do you leave the lids on normal or flip them upside down?

Thanks mush! I have 7qt wbs-pe going right now and I'm leaning towards shoeboxs. Can't wait to give these a try.

So I like this thread + the people who have been posting here so I will post an agar pic..

I nocced up 7 pastywhytes and 4 of them have absolutely nothing going on, as if there was no spores in the syringe, and the other 3 look like this.. I barely see any sectoring, just a nice thick growth, pretty sure its myc, but it kinda looks GE starving. They all have 1/4 inch hole with MP tape on them..

These plates were nocced 15 days ago. 2 questions

1) What happened to the 4 plates with nothing?
2) The one I showed look decent? All 3 look roughly like this. If so, is it necessary to transfer to another agar to isolate? There seems to be nothing to isolate, its all one strain -- B+ I wouldn't mind transferring them all to grain jars in a few days.

1. i guess nothing?
2 looks really good:thumbup:

it is all one strain. all of them!!

it takes many, many transfers before you start to see a sector.. which takes even more transfers.
and you can isolate a retarded kid just as easily as michael jordan.

at this phase of mushcult, agar is used to clean up cultures and clone genetics.
also test LCs or other inoculate prior to using.

...korn?

So for my purposes, maybe I shouldn't even bother with agar eh?
Just make jars, make prints, make my own syringes, and make shoeboxes. I won't even need to G2G if I constantly make prints eh?

NOOO!! still do agar! always do agar

you could do prints, self made syringes, jars, spawn..print repeat...
with some reasonable level of success if you are clean with your prints...

but thats like, so 2002. USE CLEAN INOCULATE. that means agar.

also 1 drop of spore solution can grow unlimited mushrooms. making syringes all day is a time consuming and ancient practice.

So.. how about this? I make agar plates (and by this Would I use syringes? or does it have to be transfer from agar), let them grow out, cut out wedges, and nocc up a couple of master jars, and do a few g2g's from there. Then every now and then whip up more agar.

I just don't want to keep doing agar transfers, that sounds painful. Unless that's the best way to stay away from using syringes

thats all i do bro!

ill germ spores on a plate.

transfer that to another one.
if it looks good ill take cuts to grow out a 3rd time and drop those into jars.

doing agar transfers is a fact of life. soon you will be horrified you ever inoculated grains with the shit you germinate.

its all about making clean inoculate. once you have clean inoculate you can do WHATEVER you want.
otherwise you are a slave to the power of 'chance.' fuck that. in any part of life, ya dig. its about control:thumbup:

Ok, just a final clarification...so you make your own prints from your own fruits, and make syringes, nocc up some agar with that with a single drop, do a transfer or two, then straight to grain. Then take a healthy ass jar and G2G it, and spawn the rest of them to shoeboxes.

The agar I got looks really clean, do I have to transfer that to agar?

I guess thats why 4 of those plates got nothing on them, because of how useless and unreliable those vendor bought syringes were hey? I bet if I used my own clean print syringes, they would all have colonized, granted good sterile procedure.. That would be cool if that was the case, then it would convince me that using my own print is x10 as reliable as bought syringes.

thats it in a nutshell.

that culture you posted looks good. id grow it out a bit more..right before it starts to really colonize a plate..

and i would use a flamed blade to cut the culture into pieces and put them into 3-4 quarts.
let those grow. the best looking of the 4 gets expanded. the other 3.. made into shoeboxes..

ill use the good expandable jar to make about 6 more. best looking gets expanded. other 5 made into shoeboxes.

now at the third cycle of those a take that 6th great looking jar and g2g that into 6 more. than those
6 are all g2g into 6 more and so on..

but all of that is just pesky details.. you can do whatever you want. but it all has a starting point. that clean plate.

I fucking love it! I thought I had to constantly make agar plates, over and over and over. But If I can just take this one clean plate and turn it into a few jars, then the best out of that into 6 more, then the best one of that to another 6, etc etc... ITS ENDLESS! But I thought a full qt of grains can do 10 jars? or is 6 the best number

I like how on the third cycle of G2G's, if they stay clean, ALL get G2G'd, so... many.. shoeboxes....  :vaped:  :hotidea:

Oh.. here's another question.. If I do this endless process of g2g, at what point am I going to have to do agar again? There is obviously a point where the G2G gets tired and weak, no?
