Don't look like any Malabars I've ever grown. Those look like generic cubes.

Lol ok well all the Malabars I've grown have looked like.... Malabars.
Malabars are special because most of the time they don't break the viel and look like a ufo.

These don't look like the typical Malabars, but they came from a reliable vendor. I've also grown KSSS that looked completely normal.

Must be conditions or something. Cubensis varieties aren’t generally distinguishable by looks

There are a few I can think of off Bat that have special characteristics that make them stand out from the rest, Malabars, treasure coast, and huatula. And these are just 3 different types I've grown out of 9 I've dealt with so far.
I can typically tell a Malabar/ treasure coast grow from 1 pic based on what the fruits look like.

The ATL/PE6 coir jar is colonizing, I wonder how long it will go? Has anyone else seen something like this? Will the different mycelium colonize all the coir? Or will it randomly divide? I guess we’ll see it’d be awesome if it colonized fully and fruited mexicana/cubensis hybrids in the most noob way ever. However I’m 99.999999% that’s not he case. What I’m hoping is it will sprout different fruit bodies in the same jar! That seems viable, yet far fetched.
In other news 3 of the 6 grain clones have contracted what appears to be 2 asperigillus and one cobweb. However this is to be expected considering agar is the cleaning process anyways, the shroom tissue has completely fuzzed up and I could than take a portion of that and transfer to another grain jar. But besides that the other 3 are taking off, no doubt they will be completely colonized without bacteria. So those won’t even be cleaned . and if I clean the dirty jars I don’t even need agar just more grain! This is proof to me that agar is literally unnecessary, not for cloning, not for isolation, or achieving a clean culture. I just feel like most people are too jaded to admit it. And btw I’ve used agar, it’s fine but it’s a hassle to get it.
And you know what? I’m canceling my order of agar right now because of its unnecessary. Any questions feel free to ask.

How does one combat side pins? I've been keeping the surface glistening; any tips?

So here's some updates pictures of project shoebox. I notice lots of top spider leg looking things. If I understand what I've read this can be too moist or lack of fae. Could any one confirm this? I would appreciate any input. Also included is a pic of fruiting area, again if anyone would be so nice as to share some pointers , links.

Improve your surface conditions or use a liner.

Delusional much? Agar is unnecessary, a hassle and those that use it are jaded?
