First pin showed yesterday...noticed the top layer has a off white color to it. Now seeing a bunch of pins...doesnt look green and it seems great...normal coloring?

No I'm pretty sure those bright white spots will turn ugly green (trich), does it have a sweet fruity smell? What do you pc your grains at? Not all pressure gauges are exactly accurate, I do mine at 19psi for 2hrs instead of 15psi for 2rs. I always do control jars too. 1 every cycle. I noticed a lot of failure in my jars percentage wise when I was running 15psi with a particular pc, once I increased the pressure on that unit, problem solved.

Ha! I thought the white condensed white balls were pins right before they fruited! I'm seeing those white specks on my other bulks too. If they all have trich....

Imo your sub looks dry in the middle compared to the edges where the condensation is running down the sides.

I just told you. No need to keep opening the lid. The cracks around the top are enough, don't try to lock it down, just flip lid over and lay it on top.
Gotcha.... Sometimes i need a picture; drawn with crayons.
You are over thinking it lol take the lid off, flip the lid 180° upside down and set it on top of the shoebox. No need to leave it off or do any regiment. Just watch surface conditions and mist as needed.

I've been keeping up on misting, I'm just reluctant to soak them. They have a very fine beads of mist, but like you said the edges seem to get it more from the condensation running down the sides. Should I go heavier on the misting? I'm just trying to be careful so I don't end up with a bunch of pooling water. Otherwise do they look ok? Its been over a year, so I'm trying to get into the swing of things again.

You mixed this on 1/13 at 1:1, Idk, depending on temps it could take awhile, but at 2wks I expect to see more growth.

I don't see anything definitive but I also don't have the most trained eye for trich. What is curious to me is the odd colonization. There is a solid line where the sub stopped full colonization. That would indicate to me that there is some sort of contam over there.
Though I know next to nothing about contams so take everything I say with a giant grain of salt.

Temps are on the colder side during the day (mid 60's) since the furnace gets cut off after I leave in the am. I'm not getting any funky smells from it, or questionable growth. Think they'll be ok? Edit: under the psudocasing is fully colonized if that makes any difference

Its that along with the bright white specks, the yellowish color, it just doesn't look right to me.

That it explains it, temps should be around 73-80f for cubes. My best growth occurs around 73-76 I would say.

I usually get the temps back to normal (72 give or take) during the evening/ overnight, but its defiantly been a cold winter here. Trying to keep the furnace from taking a dump since its been working overtime to keep the house heated due to the unusually cold winter.
