I believe its white in infancy then turns green when sporulating.

I spoke too soon, got my first ever trichoderma tonight, first it looked like huge hyphal knots but as soon as I saw a green tint appearing I tossed it, washed it and took a shower.
Prior to tossing it I wiped my grow area down with bleach with the little air filter running because I had to open my other tubs to mist them since they are fruiting.
I think I got it from insufficient FAE during colonization.Quote:

I've heard this before, about spores being green. Shit sakes I misted the tub before I saw it. Hope it didn't spread. I gave my work space a proper wipe down with bleach though.

I'm not shaming him about having bacterial spawn. We all get it. I probably have more than most who've done this as long as me. The face palm is because he constantly ignores the dangers of purposely spawning bacterial grains and acts like the warnings against it are, "YOU WON'T GET FRUITS!"
It's not a Christmas miracle that you're getting fruits with bacterial spawn. Cubes will do their damnedest to fruit. Nobody contests that. His attitude seems to be like, "Everyone says I should worry about this, but look! I'm getting fruits!" while entirely missing the focal point and seemingly doing nothing to fix the actual issue. But whatever, we all have different agendas here.

this can be interchanged with fruiting chambers and other wacky concepts that people come up with. justifying the continued practices because of a 'result' and then getting stuck 'doing what works'
most people get past bacterial spawn after awhile. sometimes it just takes ....awhile always share a pic of questionable cultures if you are unsure. (not here for the most part)
nothin wrong with enjoying the fruits from crappy spawn. just know its crap, admit its crap and apply what you learned.

Please don´t try to make me out like I´m some noob that tries to contradict knowledge with stupidity. I had spawn laying around from an experiment I did and decided that I would spawn that even tho I assume it is bacterial. Last time I did this I got two flushes in both tubs without any contams setting in. 500g fresh from 0.5L spawn.
Some are accusing me of being very meticulous some are accusing me of being very nonchalant, actually I´m in the middle somewhere. But one thing I like to do is to observe and take notes. I always keep logs of how many days every procedure took, from germination to fruiting, to colonization, to rcovery, I can give you exact info on every one of my grows. That´s just how I do things, I wan+t to get to know everything in personal.
Don´t take this the wrong way, but I am not a person striving to achieve some status here or try to be known for having "the right attitude" I grow for myself and I like to experiment because I want to know how things work and why things works. If I´m throwing out bacterial spawn then I guess I want to know first what I´m throwing out. So far it has shows that I was about to throw out 900g fresh mushrooms from 2 qt jars of bacterial WBS. And pretty glad that I decided to spawn those jars.
And also I started doing grain only a few months ago, this is really my second go at WBS and the plan is to produce killer tubs soon.
My idea of a clean plate now is not like it was a few months back when I nocced up WBS
Fruits from previous bacterial spawn did not look this sick, and this spawn also smelled bad, the previous spawn smelled like air, nothing. But this definitely had a smell to it and the fruits are deformed as fuck, a lot of blobs this time, smells good still tho and no visible contams just yet.

just dont get complacent with mediocrity i think was the point.
i ran wbs for a solid year..stopped growing for ten years..finally found out about bacterial spawn when i started back up.. after being told by everyone here how shitty my spawn looked

So are the boxes actually meant for shoes? I couldn't see myself fitting 2 shoes inside these things.

Just so everyone knows, I´m in the process of starting all over again, I have a lot of stuff waiting to germinate, then I´m gonna clean the shit out of it and try really hard to produce clean spawn.
BUT... I still have 6-7 BRF jars in the fridge that are gonna get slurried to WBS, and these cakes were inoculated with the cultures that came from the old plates that I don´t trust.. These slurry WBS still get spawned in the meantime I wait for readily available clean cultures

Do your thing mateah, as long as you know what's going on, what could be improved on, you are learning as you go, and your still producing mushrooms I don't think anything anyone says can really affect much.

Finally. My first canopy grow... sort of. Super stoked about it anyways. Will harvest tomorrow morning. Also harvested a 32q unmodified that I totally fucked up, but still got 525g wet from it. Dried to 39g.
