So I just got the weight from my last shoebox I harvested yesterday. This was the best at 62.5g/2.25oz. Bringing my total from all 4 shoeboxes(8qt) to 206.4. Not quite an OZ per QT but I am for sure getting closer.

I to am excited to see your results on that. Part of why I went 2 jars per shoebox was because I had like 40 some jars of spawn, hell I need to spawn some more still. O yea then there are the 40 pint sized cakes. I am seriously considering doing a pool with them. They are the same clone and LC I ran in the shoeboxes.

Sometimes on their second flush I'll plop them out and set them on top of their containers. Lets them fruit from the sides freely.

I do stuff like this,

Didn't even realize these guys were growing until today
Have my first ecuador clone colonizing 4 shoebox's, and my first chitwan clone colonizing wbs which will spawn to shoebox's.
Stoked for both

Ha ha! Cool idea Enkidu!
If I make to this stage, I might have to try that with a box or two. Looks like it would save some harvesting effort. Plus, I like to turn things on their side.

I've tilted them, but in full-size 66ers where the lid can cover it. I like leaving these on top in the bigger tote because the sub is more in line with the Poly holes.

I do it with shoeboxes after the first flush. I fruit at spawning so it takes a while for the sub to strong enough to lift out. I also fruit some of my shoeboxes in a bigger tote. Without those conditions it might not make sense. And my APE also have more sidepins than normal cause APE pins everywhere.

I hate to bring up the old topic of yields but, do you notice better harvests exposing more sides of the substrate like this or is it more of just going with the flow and allowing the side pins to do their thing?

I honestly don't have a large enough sample size to compare. That was actually the 3rd flush and I rarely go past 2 with a tub of that size so I can't gauge yield increase. I really don't think it'll make that much of a difference overall. I've done it when I've fucked up the sub from picking poorly and because I figure moisture is settling at the bottom of the sub due to gravity. And like you said, when there's sidepins or bottom pins, I figure let 'em breathe!
