Hi mycologist board, Im at my first steps with agar and I transferred a clean culture from MEA to 5 different homemade agar of mine, which I ok the recipes from shroomery, here is the picture after incubating

I would like to know if some of them looks not OK to transfer, or if all of them are ok, does the growth visually indicates any of them better than another ?
thanks !

It might be the picture but CORN looks bacterial contaminated. Hard to tell if it's just condensation on the lid of the dish...

Nice to meet you. I am just beginning agar as well, are you posting the ingredients and amounts too or is it an ancient Chinese secret?

Goes to show appearance on agar is meaningless. Looks stronger doesn't mean is stronger.

yes it's the cornmeal that looked suspicious. I guess those yellow spots are just cornmeal. I thought you filtered the mixture and was concerned about the spots.
I would try to filter it after boiling it with water and add the agar afterwards while it is is still hot. That should give you a clearer dish. IMO the yellow spots distract too much and possible contaminations are more difficult to spot.
Anyway. Good work

yes the cornmeal I used was very chunky, I didnt filter it thats why its does not look very clean I measured the PH of every one of them and the cornmeal one stuck out of the lot with a PH of 5.5, as for the other they were between 6.0 and 6.5
