I will preface this with a little bit of history-- I am not a huge mushroom user but I like to take them every few months to "clear my brain out." Usually I never experience anything truly nuts the way other people see things, my experiences are more just subtly warping the textures and colors of things, accompanied by intense euphoria/positive vibes, relaxation, and weightlessness. I usually dose myself with 3 grams, and watch cartoons or movies I like, and that does it for a good 2 hours of trip and 6 or so total hours of feeling 100% great lounging in a blanket on the sofa. I got my girlfriend into them because we are both people who have trouble shutting off our brains and it's nice to let it go off on an occasional ride without supervision. She has hypothyroidism so usually she takes a bigger dose which lasts a much shorter time. She likes the euphoria but prefers the muscle relaxant effect a lot more because she is a long distance runner. Anyways, I usually put mine in ramen soup, and eat it while the movie plays. This time we watched the Lego Movie, which I must say, is an awesome experience on shrooms. So we had a blast and once it was over, she was coming down off of her trip and mine was intensifying quite a lot. Later we determined that I must have switched the bowls around and mistakenly dosed myself with her higher dose, so I got 5 grams and she got 3. She got up to pee (major diuretic effect from shrooms, jeez) and during that time, I sailed off through the galaxy. Carving through spacetime and slicing galaxies in half with my wake. She shook me out of it and said it was time to go to bed but I couldn't move. "Where did I go?" I kept asking her. I said something about "hang on, I need to find my body again." and it was really hard to get up, like I was floating overhead and looking down on my meat-bag body. Somehow she dragged me upstairs and put me in bed and then for the next several hours (this is after the 1 hour 40 minute movie) I was tripping HARD. The overview of it was like being in shallow water in the ocean. A wave would come up and take you off somewhere, and then slowly beach you back down into reality. It felt like I was experiencing a thousand lifetimes in that short span, a thousand separated realities, like pages of a book but intertwined, each page a 3d matrix representing a different set of realities. Mining on an alien planet one moment, counting gold coins as Scrooge the next. Flipping 1000 channels in the brain at light speed. Every few minutes the wave would beach me down into reality again and I would ask her, "Where did I go?" I had full conversations with people, not sure if I was talking or not, at one point I felt my mouth to see if it was moving while I was talking. Sometimes it was, sometimes it was not. What a weird sensation that was, let me tell you! Then off again for more reality trips. I kept waking up out of it and at one point the shadows near the bathroom door gave me a really sinister vibe and then a storm started to blow in the room. My girlfriend turned into a little bird and I had to protect her from the storm. Then it abated and everything resumed happy vibe status. Somewhere in there I met the personification of my bad luck, which was a black coyote made of shimmering glass scales. I asked him why he was so hard on me and he said, "If I wasn't around, your life would be so boring." So I asked him to lay off a little and he was OK with that. Most of my weird vision things are distortions of what is already there but this creature, wow, it was so vivid and real, the whole idea still gives me chills. As the waves beached me back into reality, I would feel more sober before the next wave came, and at one of them, I got up and said, "I don't know where I just landed but in this one, I have to pee." so I did. There were more waves that went on and took me to places but eventually the beached portions would get longer and longer until it just tapered off into a blissful relaxed (and exhausted) state. It must have lasted 3-4 hours after the movie ended. I slept for 14 hours afterwards.
