Can I rehydrate BRF cakes that have already fruited some?

So it's my first time growing and I think my cakes got too dry. A couple did not fruit at all and I took them out and they were super dry.
The rest of the cakes have only fruited very little and seem to have stopped.
I've read that you can rehydrate the cakes by dunking them again, but the threads seem to be referring to cakes that have not fruited at all.
Can I pluck off the shrooms and dunk the cakes again? Or what if I broke up the cakes into manure and put them in a small tub? Is there anything I can do?

Just put them in a dish of water to soak for a few hours in your sgfc. They love water and should soak it right up so you should get another flush

But what about the shrooms that have already grown? Harvest those first and then re-soak?

Pick the already formed fruits, find a clean bucket, fill it with cold tap water and soak the cakes submerged for 12-24 hours, use a dinner plate to hold the cakes down, pop em back into your fc and boom more shrooms!

dry cakes are much lighter (in weight) than fully hydrated cakes.
Heft them to get an idea how hydrated they are.
dunking is like a big rain outdoors. the mushrooms love it.
good luck
