Fire fang or unknown mycelium?
    #24037637 - 01/25/17 12:46 AM (7 years, 5 days ago)

I ordered from my normal vendor of hpoo from Florida, and one bag sat around for a few weeks and when I went to open and use it, half was covered in what I suspect to be some unknown white mycelium, I looked up fire fang and found it looked more thin  spread out and coated like, this peculiar stuff on my poo is like a thick white glaze, not fuzzy, moist, the smell just smelled like poo, it's been sitting in a bag for a while so it's been colonizing or growing from what I can tell. Doesnt quite seem like cube mycelium...but maybe some other dung fungi. I was thinking about trying to experiment and try to fruit it, the I.d. it from the fruits it produces. Anyone else have similar experiences?

The only way to know what it is is to fruit it or run genome sequencing. Even after fruiting microscopy might even be required.

No it doesn't look like that, it's way more thick and covered like 1/2 the pound of the bag , it's moist and flat...just doesn't seem like the characteristics of cube mycelium, I'm thinking it's just some other dung loving mushie... Sorry I haven't gotten around to get pics yet, I'm sure that will tell you more than I can.
