Penn is the biggest waste of talent, even in his prime the guy never trained and hung in there with monsters. He far too old and never did anything to elevate his game, he should call it quits for good.

pretty sure he will after that.
the ever changing training methods of younger guys keeps it almost impossible for people to come back out of retirement.
Penn had no business in that fight at all.

His hands were down after 90 seconds in the first, which - is going to open you up for everything. Especially those hands, feet, hands combos going down.
It look like he took 38 face/head strikes from the moment his knockdown started. I need to rewatch.

The best fighter in that division is halloway and he'd crush mcgregor if they fought again, he held his own against mcgregor when they fought and max was a 22 year old kid. We'll see what the future brings but I don't like they direction UFC is heading in

The penchant for "money fights" has driven the UFC matchmaking retarded. BJ Penn should have fought another old fuck or someone who'd only otherwise show up on the undercard. The reintroduction of BJ Penn against a young, hungry killer like Yair could sour BJ from doing any future fights since he got crushed again.
Dumb business decision if you ask me. They need to [re]build stars up slowly- not throw 'em to the wolves.
Sometimes the matchmaking in WWE looks more like it resembles a sport.

I thought the same thing with Cody, then he destroyed Dominick Cruz. You never know with this sport, I thought mcgregor was a fluke because of what Mendes did to him. I still think the winner of Khabib or Tony ferg will crush mcgregor

I feel like BJ Penn never had a legit shot and they were just promoting Yair by putting an old school household name to the card.
And when it comes to McGregor, I've been skeptical almost everytime, and the shit is never close. Once again, I'd pick Khabib over McGregor, but who knows, McGregor might just knock his ass out. I would think that Khabib would hold him down and punish his face like Mini Mendes tried to do, but we don't know until it goes down. I think McGregor would match up a bit better against tony than against khabib tho.

Well almost everyone underestimated Cody, including Cruz and even his former training partner Dillashaw that same night. But if you think Cody destroyed Cruz, then what verb would you use to describe what Nunes and Yair did to their opponents? Cruz was competitive; Rousey and Penn were steamrolled.

I thought Cody outclassed Dominick in the 2nd half of the fight. Cruz brags about how he dances around and makes guys miss, yet Cody was literally dancing in front of him, dodging punches with his hands to his side, and making him look like shit. Giving him a dose of his own medicine, so to speak.
The first round was for Cody, especially with the takedown at the end. The 2nd round was very close, I'd give it to Cruz. 3rd round was Cody, no question. The 4th could have been 10-8 for Cody with the 3 knockdowns and other big shots. Id give the fifth to Cruz, just for the aggression and because Cody was just cruising to the win. No damage was done. So I'd have had it 48 to 46, but Cody could have won the fifth if he tried, and was never in danger at all. If they fought 10 times, Cody would win all 10.
During the 5th round (at 21:00) Rogan says that Cody is "Dominating him".

It is quite funny isn't it. Before the fight between Cody Garbrandt and Dominick Cruz everyone called Cody out for being flat footed, fighting emotional, fighting with a low fight IQ (I mean this in regards too his aggressive knock out style and seemingly forceful engagements) and many said he was just too "slow". Most thought he would get too emotional and try and force engagements, head hunt and be constantly trying to chase and catch Dominick with power punches. Yet he seemed to preform in the manner we expected from Cruz. I was very impressed to say the least, he done everything Cruz can do but better, especially when you consider the power that comes along with it.
He quite literally schooled the teacher.

We were witnessing the shift into the new generation of fighters with that fight.
Dom should be proud of himself for being champ for so long, and for raising the bar for his division so high. Without him there Cody and Tj would not be as good as they are now.

Tito Vs. Chael tonight on Bellator 170!
As much as I back Tito, who absolutely was a pioneer of the sport (in regards to being the bad guy in a large persona) - I think if Chael really, really put his time in - I think he will win.
This is great, they were collegiate rivals, and it's great to see the guys get back in the cage to finish this. As Scott Coker said - Should these guys be fighting guys in their early 20's? No. Should they fight each other? Absolutely.

Why can't you bet? I can send you a Bovada ref code if you want. It's the same exact thing as betting in Vegas. You get checks over night to you (free). I bet about $50-100 an event.
You can pick person v. person, or go further into rounds, how it's finished, etc. Bovada is awesome IMHO.
You can bet on any mainstream sport (and some not-so-main stream) and it's a full casino as well.

So I rewatch fights on FS1/downloads and stuff, and I can tell you - I am going to miss Goldie so much from the commentary it's not even funny. His "Goldie-isms" were just that, pure gold.
He said about Anderson - "His precision is precise" - among so many other fantastic lines. The back and forth between Joe and Goldie are just classic.
The reason I bring him up, they sure as fuck didn't give him ANY sort of sendoff in the last PPV. I mean, it wasn't even mentioned for more than 5 seconds. The guy who has tens of thousands of hours of audio time from when we grew up until now.. I just can't believe WME did not give him a 1 minute promo reel at the end celebrating his career.
Anyways Mike, this blunts for you!

The Fertitta brothers were huge fight fans. You can't expect the same from the William Morris conglomerate and it has already shown in their restructuring, lay-offs, and who the fuck knows what shitty shit on the horizon.
