When your primary source is wiki and urban dictionary, you fail. Nice try, millennial, but try again some day, when you have practical applicable world knowledge and don't have to quote online sources.
If you were in Eugene and you got a cab "To PDX", they would take you to the airport, not just Portland.

And FYI, much of the material in the pub is pointless debate.

Well you use it wrong. PDX refers to the airport, but some goofy types apply it to all of Portland. The x is an airport indicator. I am just trying to help you.
wrong.
i grew up in pdx, was part of the art scene that built the pearl, helped build the original burnside skate park, we always used pdx, it is common among real portlanders

It really doesnt matter the technicalities of it, the phrase gets the point across. No different than lol, who actually says that only when it really happens? Somebody says pdx and we all know what/where theyre talking about so when push comes to shove, its effective. And thats the point of abbreviations/slang. Yeah like 50 years ago it was only used as a postal code and for air traffic, but since then its been adopted as a synonym for the city and most people here know use it. Not trying to offend anybody i just think all of us have better things to spend out time talking about than this.
Anyway, ill have to check those two places out too. I know weve got an hp lovecraft bar, but i havent had time to go down there yet. Sounds pretty dope though haha.
And that show sounds pretty cool but i work swing and have class first thing in the am, so weeknights are fucked for me lol.
An HP lovecraft bar sounds amazing
Also I agree arguing over semantics is incredibly stupid I just hate when people state their opinions as fact cough cough coughcaliforniacough.

Good for you. Your experience doesn't account for all "real"(lol)Portlanders, and many real Portlanders, and people from other places do not use PDX(the known airport code). Have a shroomy evening. Keep it "real".

Yeah weve got the lovecraft bar, people sat its pretty rad and we have the lovecraft film festival which is in my opinion the coolest gathering weekend in Portland. Maybe thats just cuz i dont know many other things, but 3 days of obscure foreign and independent hpl inspired feature length and shory films is just where its at haha. Ive met jeffery combs, doug Bradley and a few other people there. Plus the theatre they have it in is amazing, met Quinton Tarantino there when he paraded the hateful eight around the country:)

Yeah, its usually in october but the Hollywood theatre has tons of awesome festivals and old screenings on 35/70mm. I frequent the place, definently worth checking out! Good beer and pizza too. Expensive but good.
