Brothers, I have questions but I hate asking what you have answered in the past so many times. I UTSF but I get sidetracked and end up with 7 or so tabs open and learn things other than what I started looking for.
I took the leap and am just trying to get any kind of growth so I can come swimming in the deep end like you guys do.
I used mini's and some other PP5's from a dollar store. First run- 2.5g's agar 3 g's potato flakes 1 g honey 1.5 cups water
2nd run- 7 g's agar 2 g's potato flakes 2 g's corn syrup 1.5 cups water
Condensation is a turd to deal with cause I can't seem to find the sweet spot. Slow heating/cooling to lessen it was all I could seem to do.
1. I think I was a little lean on the agar on my first attempt, correct?
2. Tilting the mini rounds, is that for greater surface area, thicker medium or is it something else?
I only have spore syringes at the moment. The mini rounds had been used for PF tek so had 3 1/8" holes for inoculating. I drilled 1 out to 1/4" and rtv'd the other 2 covering the 1/4" with micro pore and pc'd 40 min @15psi.
3. Should I inject through a SHIP or just open the lid in the SAB like normal?
Don't blame me for all the questions... fackin Adden was the one who got me going on this messy stuff... fackin Adden....

I'm no expert, brand new to the hobby myself, but based in what I've read your first batch should be just fine. 7g of agar seems like wayyyy too much.

That is the recipe I've been using and so far things are going smoothly.

Thank you, but...
That recipe is a 3rd of what I made, so your recipe would still be 6 grams to 1.5 cups of water.
Thanks for the support though man!

Flick the sides of the mini rounds with your finger kinda hard. the water will splash and pool. no more condensation in a day.
1. lean? as in firm media? just add more agar next time. a pic would help.
2. tilting? what?
3. i just pop open the lid and squirt some spores. you do that a lot less once you get agar going.
keep asking good Qs. nothing wrong with what you asked. post pics.

Hey Mushboy, thanks for the input.
1. lean as in not enough agar per water ratio, adjusted that with the 2nd batch.
2. Adden had mentioned in previous posts that he "angled" his mini's, not sure why though.
3. Guess I can afford to try opening one and injecting one too for shits and giggles... mostly giggles.
Pictures don't show much, just that it pooled in the 1st batch, the 2nd was just about 1 drop that rolls around and doesn't reabsorb. Mostly I am just nervous again and as always... impatient.
