Feeling low

I'm exercising, meditating, sleeping decent, and eating fairly clean. Yet, still feeling kinda like crap right now. Probably a combination of winter, having a girl I was really into disappear on me after a number of dates/sleepovers, and the Trumpocalypse. Not feeling low enough to be concerned, but having various aches/pains and very demotivated right now. Life can be a little rough at times. Trying to just be patient and let it pass, since I've taken all the action I know to take. Sympathies to anyone else going through a similar phase right now. I suppose, at the least, I recently hit a new PR on deadlift of 270 + bar, so that's cool.

Have a drink or 8. Smoke a quarter pound. These things usually help me.
Honestly sex fills me with anxiety. It relieves yet it's got it's own problems.
Clean living is hard. There is no real virtue.

I understand you're stuggle. Keep ya head up. Music seems to help in times of need. I haven't been feeling it much either lately.

What is it about a beautiful sunny afternoon with the birds singing and the wind rustling through the leaves, that makes you want to get drunk?
Ain't human nature a fucking son of a bitch? We are instinctually unhappy. Oh well at least there is better living through chemistry.

Fuuuuuck, speaking of which, I just thought of a possible cause. I've been taking CBD supplements every day for a while and had to quit that recently because of it going to schedule 1. I could get it a mile down the road at a local grocery/health store.

About to start up on Sulforaphane (brocolli sprout extract) soon though, which apparently has a similar range of effects (anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory)
Thanks for the responses, not sure 8 beers is my solution though, haha.

Ups and downs are quite natural, if you watch them closely, you can almost predict them.
And the most predictable is that after you go down, you can be assured that soon enough you will come up, especially if you have an open mind about your feelings.
Try not to put too much on yourself, like thinking that being low is somehow your fault. It's just a feeling, and it will pass.
Also, you've pretty much pinpointed a few reasons as to why you might be feeling low, so the what you're experiencing is a natural response. The question here is how to deal with low feelings or disappointments in general.
I like the buddhist approach of developing an ever deeper well of inner tranquility and gratitude for life so that when negative circumstances arise, you will be more prepared to let the feelings pass through you without giving them power over you. Best of luck

Thanks for the response, Chakra.

That's been my approach for a while, so I definitely appreciate the perspective. These days, I have the habit of thinking, when I'm feeling unpleasant, "there is pain" or "there is fatigue" etc, rather than "I'm in pain" and the like. In the sense of acknowledgement without ownership. Doing that seems to let low states pass (eventually) on their own more readily, especially when combined with breathing techniques and exercise.
