Any other Oregonians?

Well it looks like I'm the new kid om the block, been reading stuff here for a bit now but recently decided I have a need to start posting so here i am!
Ive only been doing this stuff for a year or so, started with mushrooms, salvia, went to lsd and next im planning on ayahuasca, mescaline and maybe dmt this year. And a few others permitted i can find them.
A bit about me, well i dig arts (music mainly) camping, graveyarding, traveling all that crap. The reasons i do psychedelics are pretty standard, bettering myself and gaining a new outlook/knowledge. Going to school for a physics degree but i just recently started...
Anyway, theres me. Not sure if its against the rules to say this but i didnt see anything, so is there anybody else in the Portland area looking to meet up and kick it with some new humans? Im planning on going camping and frying a lot this year, but im very limited on people with similar interests in this area. Trying to start meeting people now so when march rolls around we can all feel comfortable enough with each other so its not weird or awkward haha.

I'm in Oregon, undisclosed location.
I'm attempting to be living on the west side of Oregon by April of next year. Maybe move back to Seattle. On southern Utah, haven't decided yet.

I live in Oregon, reporting for duty
But i live in the Valley, far from Portland.
Also, Portland rules! Love visiting Portland except for all the homeless and confusing road system. Other than that, PDX rocks!
What kind of music u like? PDX has a ton of live music

Well if youre moving near portland and need a friend to show you around keep in touch! Im outside the city to the east a ways but getting into town is no big deal.
And that depends on the dope haha. I only have an issue with black, and even stilk as long as im not around it i dont really care. Just dropped a good friend off at rehab actually. Sounds like a badass trip too!
Im not too concerned about how far out you live, unless its like a 5 hour drive from town haha. And personally i dig it here, but theres no college that offers what i need in the end...and im mainly into abstract/experimental and psychedelic music. Like beefheart, gong zappa all that good stuff. But its hard for me to find music i dislike, (untill i turn on the radio) i can jive with anything from classical to hip hop snd all inbetween!

Nice.
Theres some experimental IDM/electronical at this bar, cant remember the name of the bar ATM. bUt the bar has a 1920s classy feel to it.
I like EDM like House or Chillstep. Good stuff! Also, 107.5 has some good old skool music on randomly, maybe u would like that

Ill have to check it out, i used to be really into electronic stuff but fell out of touch with it recently due to the crowd ive been kickin it with. But velvet acid Christ and nitzer ebb were some of the firsg bands i was ever into! Currently the only stuff like that i still know of are VAC, kraftwerk and anklepants. I wanna get into more but im too lazy to look for it and i would rather find it through other people. Any suggestions? Haha

PDX is shorthand for Portland, at least how i use it.
No ones going to shows at the Airport
Some people do call it P-Town.

Well you use it wrong. PDX refers to the airport, but some goofy types apply it to all of Portland. The x is an airport indicator. I am just trying to help you.

PDX may refer to:
Places Edit
Portland, Oregon, US Portland International Airport, per IATA code Portland State University, whose domain name is pdx.edu Union Station (Portland, Oregon), per railway code
You just appear like a dick when not picking stupid stuff like this...
Good luck with that
Not to mention you are wrong, PDX can refer to multiple things...
Even if it was originally used as a code for the airport it can still be used elsewhere.
I don't see anything about it being used for the airport first anyways.
Not that it even matters.

PDX came from the airport, and is the typical and primary usage of those who aren't ignorant, and don't feel the need to quote wiki in a weak attempt to be rIght on the internet. You, LOL.

Man, Portland, Oregon is awesome! I kind of traveled there homeless/nomad style from Southern Ontario last year to visit a guy I talked to for awhile online. You should definitely check out South East Grind Cafe in SE Portland. Or go where the hippies go. "Rainbow Gathering" or Parade is one.

Nah, it is easier to just spot the goofs using the airport code to refer to the city, try and set them straight, see them get butthurt about it, and then laugh at them.

If one tells another person they need to be picked up at PDX, it typically refers to the airport, and only an ignorant would think it means the entire city. Deal with it.

Someone who wasn't buthurt would admit this is a difference in semantics.

Generally when people aren't wrong they use this thing called evidence to prove it... They don't have to declare it

Youre all wrong for putting this much time and effort into such a pointless debate. Its like arguing how you pronounce potatoe. It really doesnt matter the technicalities of it, the phrase gets the point across. No different than lol, who actually says that only when it really happens? Somebody says pdx and we all know what/where theyre talking about so when push comes to shove, its effective. And thats the point of abbreviations/slang. Yeah like 50 years ago it was only used as a postal code and for air traffic, but since then its been adopted as a synonym for the city and most people here know use it. Not trying to offend anybody i just think all of us have better things to spend out time talking about than this.
Anyway, ill have to check those two places out too. I know weve got an hp lovecraft bar, but i havent had time to go down there yet. Sounds pretty dope though haha.
And that show sounds pretty cool but i work swing and have class first thing in the am, so weeknights are fucked for me lol.

When your primary source is wiki and urban dictionary, you fail. Nice try, millennial, but try again some day, when you have practical applicable world knowledge and don't have to quote online sources.
If you were in Eugene and you got a cab "To PDX", they would take you to the airport, not just Portland.

And FYI, much of the material in the pub is pointless debate.

Well you use it wrong. PDX refers to the airport, but some goofy types apply it to all of Portland. The x is an airport indicator. I am just trying to help you.
wrong.
i grew up in pdx, was part of the art scene that built the pearl, helped build the original burnside skate park, we always used pdx, it is common among real portlanders

An HP lovecraft bar sounds amazing
Also I agree arguing over semantics is incredibly stupid I just hate when people state their opinions as fact cough cough coughcaliforniacough.

Good for you. Your experience doesn't account for all "real"(lol)Portlanders, and many real Portlanders, and people from other places do not use PDX(the known airport code). Have a shroomy evening. Keep it "real".

Yeah weve got the lovecraft bar, people sat its pretty rad and we have the lovecraft film festival which is in my opinion the coolest gathering weekend in Portland. Maybe thats just cuz i dont know many other things, but 3 days of obscure foreign and independent hpl inspired feature length and shory films is just where its at haha. Ive met jeffery combs, doug Bradley and a few other people there. Plus the theatre they have it in is amazing, met Quinton Tarantino there when he paraded the hateful eight around the country:)

Yeah, its usually in october but the Hollywood theatre has tons of awesome festivals and old screenings on 35/70mm. I frequent the place, definently worth checking out! Good beer and pizza too. Expensive but good.
