There is no context, you just appear ignorant when you use it. Good luck with that.

PDX may refer to:
Places Edit
Portland, Oregon, US Portland International Airport, per IATA code Portland State University, whose domain name is pdx.edu Union Station (Portland, Oregon), per railway code
You just appear like a dick when not picking stupid stuff like this...
Good luck with that
Not to mention you are wrong, PDX can refer to multiple things...
Even if it was originally used as a code for the airport it can still be used elsewhere.
I don't see anything about it being used for the airport first anyways.
Not that it even matters.

PDX came from the airport, and is the typical and primary usage of those who aren't ignorant, and don't feel the need to quote wiki in a weak attempt to be rIght on the internet. You, LOL.

Man, Portland, Oregon is awesome! I kind of traveled there homeless/nomad style from Southern Ontario last year to visit a guy I talked to for awhile online. You should definitely check out South East Grind Cafe in SE Portland. Or go where the hippies go. "Rainbow Gathering" or Parade is one.

So I guess you know how the majority of people use words then huh?
Must be tough knowing everyone in Portland and making sure they all use PDX for only the airport

Also it is worth noting I am just saying it can have more then one meaning...
Cali you are the one saying it can only mean one thing and are attempting to be right

I was saying we are all right, it is just semantics after all...

Nah, it is easier to just spot the goofs using the airport code to refer to the city, try and set them straight, see them get butthurt about it, and then laugh at them.

If one tells another person they need to be picked up at PDX, it typically refers to the airport, and only an ignorant would think it means the entire city. Deal with it.

No. I am a native Oregonian who isn't ignorant and butthurt.
Someone who wasn't buthurt would admit this is a difference in semantics.
Not stubbornly keeo saying they are right while providing subjective evidence that proves nothing

I am not wrong.
The burden of butthurt is on the persons being blatantly wrong and quoting wiki pages.

Generally when people aren't wrong they use this thing called evidence to prove it... They don't have to declare it

Anyways I could care less about this so I am done wasting time
Pretty funny when people think their way of thinking is the only acceptable one though

Top Definition PDX Slang term for Portland Oregon. Also name of the airport in Portland.
Urban dictionary is pretty stupid but it seems like a widely used term for portland

Youre all wrong for putting this much time and effort into such a pointless debate. Its like arguing how you pronounce potatoe. It really doesnt matter the technicalities of it, the phrase gets the point across. No different than lol, who actually says that only when it really happens? Somebody says pdx and we all know what/where theyre talking about so when push comes to shove, its effective. And thats the point of abbreviations/slang. Yeah like 50 years ago it was only used as a postal code and for air traffic, but since then its been adopted as a synonym for the city and most people here know use it. Not trying to offend anybody i just think all of us have better things to spend out time talking about than this.
Anyway, ill have to check those two places out too. I know weve got an hp lovecraft bar, but i havent had time to go down there yet. Sounds pretty dope though haha.
And that show sounds pretty cool but i work swing and have class first thing in the am, so weeknights are fucked for me lol.
