I hope John Allen would be proud.

A cube is a cube. But I've always liked the history behind certain varieties. Despite some bashing I've actually read. I decided to pick up some John Allen "strain". I wasn't going to share but I am actually impressed with the results.
Coir + Straw + Gypsum + Worm Castings - Subrate WBS + Gypsum - Spawn Pasty's Mini Monotub Design
I have to say this is the biggest fruits from the first flush I have ever had.

I suspect that the bashing was with the man and not the spores.

If you work on your culture skills & dial in your monotubs, they'll be even bigger and better. They look an awful lot like healthy oxygen deprived creepers (no pun). Those are some really pretty mushrooms. Did you slice the thickest one in half? I had some treasure coast that looked like that, and unfortunately didn't clone the others that were full of meat. There was nothing hollow about them. Make sure to let those go a little bit longer than usual and I recommend flipping them after a few hours. Thick stems and shrinkage, if caught in the dehydrator, can pull mushrooms apart or not even like mushrooms.

What he said and how John threatened to sue the board and melted all over the place way back in the beginning years of the boards. You find his posts once in awhile but usually in hunting forums. He tried to take an amazing thing from us, and it's also bad enough there's psilocybe allenii. I dislike those mushrooms, and have left some out of spite. Now there's a cube variety haha what a joke. The accusations, however founded or unfounded, are enough for me to not like him as a person.
Not downplaying your grow dude they look awesome and you did a good job. The healthy stems and perfect harvest time I bet they're gonna taste fantastic. Did you bisect any?

Hmm, well people will be people. We all fall short of being perfect. I've gotten a variety that originated from the town where Maria Sabina lived. For what I know she could have eaten children! She believed we ruined mushrooms because of how we use them.
I in no way support those actions for any man. I can at least respect he was apart of the community. Michael Jackson had some major issues. But I cannot remove the fact that he was a very talented person. (I know very little about JA so that is a terrible comparison I know)
I was looking at Redboy because of the history with RR. But he is kind of a DB too. Hah! Though I have learned a lot from his smart ass comments.
But to answer the question. Yes, I did slice the stems. Ended up with about 58 grams dry first flush.
I apologize if I caused some animosity. If you have another cube in mind that would be better reflection into this community, please share! I think next I'd like to do an Albino.
