5 days into fruiting... No fruits
    #24030829 - 01/22/17 03:07 PM (7 years, 8 days ago)

So my two monotubs were colonizing rather light, i used about 1.5qts of spawn in each one with about 10 qts of sub. It took about 2 weeks to get ready to fruit, and honestly I was going to let them go longer until I posted here and was advised otherwise.

It seems as though the growth and spread of myc stopped about a week after i spawned them, lemme just lay out a simple timeline:
Colonization...
First week we had good myc spread, held under no light and holes tightly packed with poly.
By the end of the second week things looked about the same and y'all replied to my pics and said to pop them in fruiting. Done.
5 days into fruiting and I'm shakin' a bit. The only visible difference I can see is that now there is condensation on the lids mainly from misting every couple of days and some of the larger clumps of myc appear slightly yellow, only slightly but still concerning me.

My fruiting conditions involved removing about half of the poly from each hole, they are now loosely packed, and two 14 watt fluorescent bulbs were turned on about 1.5 feet from the tubs, all done in a closet. As well as misting the walls of the tubs every 2 days.

How long should I let it go before giving up?

Patience young skywalker.

I usually didn't see fruit for 7-14 days, but I've seen much, much longer.

Why would you mist the walls of your tubs? The substrate needs to drink water, not the plastic tote. That being said you don't need to mist at all. The substrate surface should have little beads of water all the way through the first flush without any assistance.

Also allow light to get to your sub during colonization. Light is beneficial at every stage of the growing process.

:whathesaid:

I too have a tub that's 22 days in, fruited at spawn and pins just started a day or two ago. Took one for a clone as the spawn is bacterial, looking to clean up the culture.
