NEED HELP WITH BLUE OYSTERS PLEASE!!
    #24030434 - 01/22/17 12:43 PM (7 years, 8 days ago)

This is my first blue oyster grow or any edible for that matter. I inoculated pasteurized straw in a grow bag on 1/14/2017 today is 1/22/2017 and the bag does not seem to me fully colonized. today I noticed it seems to be starting to fruit from the holes poked in the bag. I am not sure if I should have put holes in the bag because it has a filter patch on the bag, but i didn't know how the access water would have drained. that's why I poked holes in the bag (should I have done this or not?). Now on to the more daunting question. Should I cut holes in the bag an introduce fruiting or wait until the uncolonized straw has fully colonized.

Thanks to you all!!

You will probably get a better response on the medical and Gourmet section of the site. Mushroom cultivation is dedicated to activate mushrooms.

Let it fruit, it should colonize the remaining area as it fruits, if not then its possibly too damp.
Add some holes so it can dry out in that area, it not then its a patch of bacteria.

Good luck, it looks healthy to me, no signs of bacteria.

I'm sorry everyone. I thought blue oysters were mushrooms and I was cultivating them thanks for correcting me on that. I will be sure to put further questions in the Medicinal Mushrooms sections. Thanks for the MOD SOLUTION Cronicr

P. ostreatus is very aggressive and will fruit prolifically in certain conditions, even when not fully colonized.  I agree with Ferather, looks extremely healthy.

Thanks for the input. My lights are going to be here tomorrow and I will put them in the fruiting chamber tomorrow and fruit them. I thought it would take another week to colonize so I was a little behind. They started poping out fruits in like 6 days. I am a little supersized to say the least. Is 6 days the norm or did I just end up with a good colonizer?
