I've got a bunch of these totes and planning on making some tubs out of them. I know no lids really maintain a perfect seal, but these have gaps all along the top. I gather I can just tape them up but that might be along pain considering I'd have to reapply every time I open. I gather I'll experiment and find out for myself the best route. I was wondering if anyone may have used these totes before and if you maybe had forgone making top holes for far and how that worked. Or vice versa. Or if you haven't what you would suggest.

My lids are white but the totes are clear. I use large rubber bands and clear garbage bags to enclose the top. Seems to work.

id use it the way it is. maybe put some holes near sub level for extra air. although Bod has his tubs and no holes either but hes a better cultivator then i am.

I had planned on putting in the bottom holes. I guess I'll hold out on top holes for now as there seems to be enough surface area in the gaps collectively about equal to what 2 holes would be

I gather if I wrap the top in plastic the gaps won't matter much. Get some bungee cords to wrap plastic over the top. Well see. Be a slight inconvenience but I'll figure out through trial and error. Hopefully sooner than later. Anyone know of any possible teks for this type of tote specifically? If not I'll likely make one. Basically same amount of everything as per a 66 quart sterling type tub. Might have to tweak hole placement and size and things of that nature. Well see

Here is the first mono I made, as I said I just used an elastic and garbage bag.
As you can see, I got the hole placement wrong but it still gave me 3 flushes.
