Being Timely
    #2402747 - 03/04/04 01:05 PM (20 years, 1 month ago)

I'm obsessed with time. I'm always at my classes 10 minutes before they start. When I set my alarm clock at night, I do the math on what time I have to fall asleep to get my eight hours. I'm always at the dining hall either within 15 minutes after it opens, or within 15 minutes before closing to avoid lines. When I rent a movie and watch it with my family, I always have to quote a time, I can't just watch it on a whim. When I'm studying, I always have to set an interval for how long I will stay at the library. On long car rides- making good time is like finding a fifty dollar bill- I can't stop looking at the clock placed so temptingly close to my line of sight. Late for work? Very, VERY rarely, and usually of mine own accord.

I don't like that I'm this dependent on time, I wish I did things without thinking of the clock so much. It feels like I'm enslaved to this facet of our world.

As a dishwasher, I must now condemn you to Hell for this.

Myself, I'm not very set in time. I just don't have the time to pay that much attention to it.
Peace.

you are my antithesis
im usually 10-30 minuites late to my classes if i show up at all
i dont set my alarm clock, or else i set it for the middle of the night or to the wrong time
time doesnt exist
life is a smooth flow
dont chop it up into bits
smash all clocks
in 20 minuites it will be 420  :stash:

That's a good quality, man. Nothing wrong with social responsibility and integrity. I struggle with time. I'm late alot, but I'm also very busy. I don't wear a watch. Do you? Maybe try not wearing it for a while since you probably have a pretty solid internal clock. Maybe you also have issues with surrender. One night, just be open to the possibility of watching a movie spontaneously. Of course, take care of the things you are obligated to, then just surrender to the whim of moments. How does your obsession with clock time affect you when you trip?

No offense but it sounds like you have that one mental problem, I think its called obsessive compulsive disorder..but atleast yours isn't that bad. But you say it makes you feel enslaved..have you ever tried not being so timely? start out slow..watch a movie without looking at the time and move your way up to bigger things, like hittin the snooze button when you wake up..lol
