Will these cakes fruit??
    #24027872 - 01/21/17 10:53 AM (7 years, 9 days ago)

The last time this happened my cake pinned early, it never fruited and it got moldy and I ran out of spores (breathe in)

I swore to myself to wait a week after full colonization no matter what and follow the tek perfectly, but they've fruited early, again :mad2:

Anyway I have them in my chamber, there sitting in there lids on a bed of wet verm and there in a wet verm casing layer to, are they gunna fruit????:frown:

(ps had you make big holes in the chamamber due to the plastic, which kept splitting)

Build a proper SGFC will help.

Sorry you'll have to learn how to properly drill holes in plastic.

what tek are you following?

gotta make those holes smaller, dont use so much force and get the right drill bit

if your cakes are pinning you should be watering them in lids 1 or 2 times a day with no verm bottom

your going to have issues with the SGFC like that.  when drilling the holes in plastic a new metal drill bit and let the weight of the drill cut thru the plastic works best Or you can use a wood backer block (2x4) to brace the plastic and drill against. Just be should to be careful when using a backer block.

your roll is the casing there shouldnt be any verm in the lids

something will probably grow but your yield is going to be a lot lower than if you had followed a tek to the T

Misting the walls doesn't really serve any purpose. You want to mist the air above the cakes and let it settle onto them. Evaporation of water off of the cakes is an important pinning trigger.

Oh, Really? Ive seen a lot of success from other growers where the cakes are sitting in the lid with verm, should I just leave them on some foil

ill leave them on some foil, i might put some micro pore tape on the holes as well, or will that block fae??

bottom watering has become popular as well but if youve heard that a bottom layer of verm is good from people that know what theyre doing then go for it

okie dokie, they say it keeps the cake almost as moist when its in water but you get more fruits at the bottom due to the cake not being sat in water
