    #24027417 - 01/21/17 06:10 AM (7 years, 9 days ago)

Hello folks!

Just to mention in the start... ive scraped lower part because it wasnt fully colonized, so it may be bruising... What do u say? Its been week since birthing... Dont ask me why i didnt wait for full colonization its complicated a bit

Birthing a jar that is not fully colonized will likely mold.

Abort the mission.  That cake is toast.

The problem isn't your Agar-Transfer, the problem is your not-100%-colonized cake.
The uncolonized rye is susceptible for mold, so colonize your jars to 100%.

Ive transfered agar patch to cakes and the colonization was so slow... I should do liquid culture and inoculate... but i learned now. Im just sad because i did agar and had different cultures in each cake... so i thought ok ill birth them and they will start growing... So u say i cant do anything now? Maybe cut cakes in half

If they're moldy they belong in the garbage, or outside in the compost. Yeah I'd do LI to brf if it was me.

Not Sure about the different methods, I'm Just around month 4 or Five growing mushrooms.
Worked with LC, was a Bad idea.
Switched to Agar (Agar, inoculate into rye-jars, Kater spawning it in a MonoTub).
I would recommend this Agar-way, Finished everything successful.

~Hope its possible to Understand me, my auto-correction at my mobilephone ist killing ist.

Yes it didnt work... ive actually transfered agar patch to the top of brf cake and it worked somehow... it started colonizing but it was slow and insufficient. Im waiting for new spores and i will make syringes. One more question pls. When it comes to drying... i lay them on top of paper towel and have small fans on for about 3 days then get them in epsom salt container... is that a good way to do it? they do come out crisp dry.
