Anyone producing Maple Syrup this Spring?

Do we have any sap boiling maple fiends on this here forum? I've been doing 5 taps a year, cooking down in a roaster pan, and finishing inside for about 4 years now.
This year me and a buddy are stepping up our game. Just ordered 100 taps, 500' of tubing, buckets, and we are building a poor man's evaporator out of cinder blocks and a stainless pan. If anyone is interested I'll put up some picks when we get it built in the next few weeks.

I do not make maples syrup, but I am interested in your pics, it would be cool to see your procedure.
What is your yield from 100 taps going to be? How much do you get from 1 tap? Do you do 1 tap for 1 tree? You say an evaporator, I know about taping trees for sap/fluids in case of being lost in the woods, the stuff which comes out is usually very thin, is that why it needs to be evaporated, to make it more syrupy?

Cool, I'll get some pics up as we go along. On an average year a tap should average about 1/4 gallon of finished maple syrup, so hopefully we end up with at least 25 gallons if we use them all. The sap coming out of the tree only has about 2% sugar so it usually takes around 43 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of finished syrup.
On the taps: a tree with a minimum diameter of 12" can support 1 tap, 18" can support 2 taps, and 24" can support 3 taps without harming the tree.
We didn't get the pan yet for the evaporator, but the one we are leaning towards is 2 1/2' x 4'. We'll stack cinder blocks 3 high to build three sides to support the box, and burn wood in the middle to heat the pan. Should have pictures of some progress in the next week.
The whole thing is really an experiment to see if we want to go even bigger next year. We have access to about 35 acres of woods loaded with sugar maples, so if we get the money for equipment we could do 3000+ taps.

The freeze thaw cycle, freezing at night and above that temperature during the day.
You can make syrup from any maple and some other trees.

I don't know what the going rate would be, or how much you dilute it to eat it on like pancakes, but I'd happily pay 20 bucks for a honey bear sized amount. Let me know.

Where do you get access to all the trees?
We made maple syrup in grade school. It was pretty cool.

I have tapped both maple (Norway/silver) and birth.
Never made syrup, mostly used it for homemade soda's and some candy, But its a interesting hobby that's remarkably simple
I actually made my taps, first was wood then I tried brass which corroded to fast for me to be comfortable using I thought it may leave off taste's
This is a strange year to collect in the North east many trees have ben running for quite a while, I think that may impact the taste since they relay never went fully dormant

I've made small amounts of syrup a couple of times from Norway and the yield was close to what you'd expect from Sugar, it was about 45 to 1 the time I measured the sap and yield 5 gallons made a pint of syrup and it was good.
