my first agar

3 days ago I attempted my first go at agar.
I used 16 mini rounds with paper towel and tinfoil, 1/4" hole double micropore, 10 cc's per container. 3 of them got 20 cc's. PC'd for 40 @ 15 PSI.
I was looking at different recipes and what I used was 2.5 grams of agar ribbon ground up in magic bullet, 2 teaspoons of potato flakes, 1.5 cups of water and blue food coloring.
I wanted to use my last 1.5 cc's of treasure coast to preserve the strain but I had a hard time seeing what I was doing through the SAB without my glasses and had some sort of premature inject-ulation that made it into the container. I replaced the lid and left it there for now. I should be able to recover the strain with a bit of work right? If not, I still have other strains, just wanted to have the variety is all.
Condensation... really heavy. I put the others in a small sterlite and there is moisture developing on the sides. They are still covered in paper towel and tinfoil. Am I OK?
Still new and terribly nervous every time I try something for the first time. Forgive me please if I am out of line or pestering you guys with my inexperience. I am trying, just looking for reassurance or redirection if you don't mind helping.

-------------------- The biggest trip of my life was realizing all of the events and actions described in posts made by this account were never real and had never actually happened, but were instead the delusional ramblings of a severely mentally ill human being. I just had to move on for my own good. I love you all.

I made a batch of 16 mini's. I inoculated 1 with 1.5 cc's by accident and stored it in the SAB for now. The others I put in a sterilite to keep aside for now except for one, to see if the condensation can be reabsorbed.
This is the 14 in the sterilite and 1 sitting out so I could play with it.
This is all I had for a SAB, I just angled it to get my hands in underneath for the work.
I forgot to put my glasses on and was already underway so it just played out that way. Yes, no pour pasty's tek.

One drop is the usual for agar. How did you get 1.5 cc? I wound use a loup (wire) sterilised by flame and transfer a drop or less to others. Cut some holes in your container for your arms.
1.5cc your probly going to have a mess unless the syringe is real clean.

in case you haven't seen them, maybe a few techniques you can tighten up, not like you don't know what the fuck you're doing just more practice

Bodhisatta, I just went through those posts last night, I am sifting through a lot of information with your input, thank you.
I didn't mean to use the whole dose, it just happened.
Do I refrigerate for storage or let them dry for a while? Is the condensation something to worry about?
My guess is that I am not doomed and can recover a sample to clean and eventually clone... I also assume I need to try to get rid of the condensation problem. The syringe was from a trusted vendor, so what is in the mini round should be fairly clean and salvageable right?

condensation is only a visibility problem until there's contamination then it spreads it. you'll be fine though no need to try to fix it now

Probably the best advice I ever got regarding this hobby is that when you screw up, just move on like you did it right. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it fails, but every time I've tried to fix things I just made it worse. I have wasted jars of grain spawn trying to save a log by adding it days after pasteurization, contaminated the hell out of agar keeping it open and trying to move tissue off the edge, and all sorts of other things.
Just let it alone and hope. If it fails, remember for next time. If it works out, celebrate and then remember for next time.

Yep. If practice sterile technique you will not have a problem. I used on old tracing (??), light to see through condensation at one time. Good technique though, so zero contamination.

Thank you fella's.
I will see if I got an old guitar string to make a loop with, till then I will flame a craft blade and work at reducing the condensation problem. I raised and lowered the heat slowly. Half hour to heat up, all night to cool.
Oh, forgot to mention... the stupid potato flakes smelled like onion and garlic when they hit the water, don't know if that'd make any difference... maybe the mushrooms will go better with steak.
