i always found alcohol to be an all or nothing drug. if you just occasionally dabble you are probably not drinking properly and will end up hung over.

the good news is once you are a drunk you just stay drunk all the time, takes some work at that point to get a hang over, you just pass out and wake up still drunk usually.

Waking up drunk/ being drunk all the time sounds like a sign your liver is shot or at the end of it's ropes and can't handle it all...

I knew this woman who was a hardcore party girl/ drinker. By the time she was partway through her thirties she had liver issues.

She ended up getting to the point where 1 or 2 drinks would trash her becouse she couldn't even process it anymore....

Alcohol is nasty, especially hard alcohol. It is essentially a solvent/ poison at that point.

What all these people said.. But also, get more cysteine in you. Eat eggs, they have lots of cystine in them. Cysteine is necessary to break down Acetaldehyde, the major ethanol degradation product that makes one 'sick'. Red-meat has it as well to a lesser-extent. You can get powdered N-acetylcysteine as a supplement, which is like a rocket-grenade. But I don't recommend that.

I currently don't drink any alcohol, nothing, nada, or do any drugs of any sort, legal, or illegal, I touch nothing, I am almost free from the system so am taking absolutely no risks.

With that said, what has helped me in the past when drinking is to drink a beer or two, then drink a cup of water, then drink more alcohol, then water, continue this process until you're as drunk as you want, although adding water to the cycle means you will have to pee more frequently, but will help with you getting to drunk to quick, and also help the next morning.

Get some electrolytes in you too before you lay down, that is if you remember to do so, make the last thing you consume before bed either water, or an electrolyte drink.

Yeah I drink alot of alcohol but I also have a pretty fat/oil heavy diet, which I really feel like makes all the difference with hangovers.  When I used to eat a more carb heavy diet I would get awful hangovers from drinking much less.

People always seem to crave fatty foods the morning after, guess there's some truth to them helping hangovers.

A smoothie full of greens and fruits of numerous colors is really good for your brain though, and lighter on the stomach.

Kindling effect and damaged liver...? I used to polish off bottles and feel zero effect the next day. Now a night drinking leaves me with 3-4 day hangover. Ugh, ugly shit. Such a 'dirty' caveman drug. Even if I don't touch the stuff for years, the hangovers get progressively worse and worse...

Yeah I mean I don't think people realize the role salts and lipids play in dehydration.  You can have really thin blood and feel like you're dehydrated if you're depleted in nutrients.

My personal take on it all is that it is generally stressful to switch energy sources, of which alcohol is one, albeit a highly toxic one.  If you eat a good mixture of fat, protien, and carbs alcohol is going to be a mid-range energy source and can kinda be worked into the metabolism, at some considerable cost to the liver after a certain point.

If you mostly eat carbs, and you drink alot of alcohol, you are going to crash after the alcohol wears off, just as you would if you ate a fat based diet and started eating mostly carbs.

Whiskey is only part of a healthy balanced breakfast.

Must have been the breast milk and titty fat that helped you avoid a hangover.

Hap hap day of birth and many more!

Lots of water and good food a few hours before sleep.
