mycelium tentacles reaching out of the cake ? w/pics

Hi gents, I've been having strange mycelium growth outside of the cake while fruiting. Im in the process of tweaking terrarium atmosphere here so it might not be perfectly tuned to the liking of my small friends growing there, here a pic :
The terrarium is a shotgun with an additional source of humidity, a ultrasonic humidifier running continually at lowest setting, keeps the inside of the terrarium constantly extremely foggy, but the hygrometer showing 90 percent which I think is wrong. I wonder if humidity is too much .. temperature is 23 Celsius when growing neon lights are on during day ( 12 hours ) and 21 Celsius during night time.

Outside its very cold, -1c to -10c, dry winter sometimes cheers !

Aerial mycelium, something to do with high co2 I think? Also humidifiers are not needed with sgfc could maybe have something to do with it maybe the constant humid air is doing something

Don't run a humidifier. They are starved off air. Just mist them manually. You want to them to dry out a little bit and get them wet, then dry etc.

yes I removed the humidifiers from the setup. To palliate the very low humidity due to cold climate, I will give a bath to the container every 3 days or so. That re-humidifies the perlite and keep the humidity high in the terrarium. Cold watering the bath up to just below perlite level. I would like to automate misting and fanning. Fanning would be easy with a timer and fan so Ill be looking for a misting device , cheers !

Brother.
Mist will not humidify, that is not the purpose of misting. The main purpose is to mist and then fan to induce pins to start forming. The cakes create a warmer temp that rises and exits the top holes drawing humidity through the dampened perlite. You want to replicate nature.
If you want to get the most out of your shotgun, don't automate anything. It can be left unattended for a weekend if need be.
My cakes were so fat from aerial myc I thought I'd hit the jackpot, now I know it was a mistake.
