Yeilds probably won't change much. They have more to do with genetics and available water.
Dog food seems to speed up pinning. Bran gives the inoculant somthing to hold on to for quick recovery and speedy colonisation. Gypsum buffers PH and adds calcium and sulfur. Coffee adds nitrogen which may or may not effect potancy depending on who you ask.

After doing dozens of monotubs over the years, this is the greatest shit I've stumbled on here in a long time. After a long break, this will be the tek i use first instead of the monotub as soon as my agar is colonized. Question: Have you used grain to knock up the bottles? Like from a colonized master jar?

I have and honestly, the g2g doesn't perform as well as the liquid-inoculant at all (takes longer), and worse, the grain can be bacterial while the LI is cleaner.

Both Methods are proven and work fine.

I have used grain to inoculate these and frankly prefer it. If you use a small grain like millet it provides a high amount of inoculation and recovers a lot quicker than liquids.

Just made my first batch of bottles.. Going to be running oysters reishi and some PE.. I used straw, oats, dog food, brown rice flour, gypsum and coffee.. It looked really wet once it cooled so I added about a pint of verm and a pint of dry oats hoping that will help adjust the moisture..
Did I do something wrong? I strained the mixture with a 5 gallon bucket withs all holes.. Could the holes have been to small or clogged? when I squeezed the mixture a small amount of water came out..

Sounds like you didn't follow the tek. You shouldn't be straining or draining any water.

I was planning on getting some master grain jars with winter wheat berries from my clean agar plates. Then maybe trying this bottle tek out instead of the monos. I'd like to do less LC, I screwed the pooch with my last batches, so it left a bad taste in my mouth. That was my big push to agar in the first place.

Straining is required with the straw based recipe.
It will look wet befor the PC cycle. That's normal as long as it's doesn't have water dripping off of it without squeezing it.

Thanks Muda.. Turned out with the perfect water content..
Do you have any recipes for edibles with saw dust? Looking to make some bottles for reishi turkey tail and lions mane..
Do you grind your dog food when you add it to the mix or use it whole?

For reishi and lions mane I use hardwood fuel pellets suplimented with around 35% wheat bran. Befor PCing the bottles I use a broom handle to make a hole down the Centre of the tightly packed sawdust. To inoculate I fill the hole with grain spawn. I tried inoculating several sawdust and grain bottles with LI but they either took months to colonise or stalled completely.
I grind my dog food in a ninja blender.

Thanks and yes.
so are my "fuzzy feet" meaning I need to take the lid off and fan?
EDIT: so here is a big reason why i'm handy with the perlite, right nextdoor:

Here's another section of the little closet. I'm starting to run on all three cylinders
