The 'mainstreaming' of psychedelics..

Ive noticed on Facebook more and more media outlets and random pages sharing the whole 'psyches can decrease depression and anxiety' trendy not-too-new research... Like a lot. Maybe its about me noticing but it begs the question, other than bringing some truths to light, and awareness of benefits of usage, is it something to constantly go on about? I guess my concern is the possible meddling from the medical industry and state intervention. You know, being bombarded with truths to the point of eventual legalization or further 'mainstreaming' for financial and appearance appeal. Am I alone in wondering this? Your thoughts?

The US dug their trenches so deep on the other side of the war on drugs that they will never be able to flat out say they were wrong. We can't even muster enough support to legalize medical marijuana on a federal level.

I don't think itd ever be legalized in our life time. But perhaps in the future, a push, at least. But yes, that is a fair point.

I think psychedelics are illegal because the people that follow laws are the people that should not be taking psychedelics. E.G the people who go to Amsterdam to buy truffles and end up becoming an hero because the trip is too intense and they have never experienced a serious alteration of their consciousness.
I think you should have to pass a test for mental health and intelligence before you buy any truffles.

which absolutely no famous person could've passed with the tune in, turn off, drop out phrase
people would still be eating mushrooms off of cow shit if we only allowed intellectuals to take them and they're the ones who usually jump off the bridge

I think so. I definitely have been seeing an increasing awareness of psychedelics just about everywhere. Its mentioned in more & more movies, tv shows, youtube videos, podcasts (the joe rogan podcast turned a lot of people on) and there's enough good info online and forums like shroomery these days that if you're at all a curious person , you've probably given psyches a go by now.

Dropping out doesn't work so well. There will always be a need for some sort of community for trade.
I think mainstreaming is ok. It boosts support in a war that has been waged against freedom. This isn't shooting up heroin or snorting coca extracts. It's about a more legitimate use of life forms that have ancient history as aids and tools.
They created so much misguided bullshit against using these life forms. So there will be some bullshit supporting their usage.
As much as I dislike street rumors about drugs. I also dislike Government propaganda.

The has been too much irresponsible and reckless outcomes with broad based drug usage and legalization throughout history to open the door wide open.
of course there is if you don't factor in starvation and a shitty gov't lol are you talking about greek tragedies? Those people killed themselves with poisen they didn't o.d. on drugs they went to a poisen dealer and bought poisen from a store specifically to kill themselves without failure
tobbacco and alcohol are some of the most destructive drugs 2nd only to hard drugs mixed up with crappy adulterants I really don't see where you're going with this. Legalization of most basic chemicals and plants would stop drug distribution cold turkey

Changing a culture mired in prohibition and backwards alcohol culture will take decades. I'm glad to see it. Many 'normies' only listen to official news reports and studies. So, in this way it may bring some relief for people accused of using these 'drugs' in court. They are not the same as alcohol, heroin, coke, etc.
