G’day mates.
I’m new to hunting mushrooms. I use to grow cubes a few years ago but had to put the hobby on hold for a while. I recently undertook a lifestyle change and moved to a new rural location on the mid north coast of NSW. Got a few hundred acres with some grassy fields down in a valley that neighbours cattle wonder around on. Looks like a good mushroom paradise
This is my first time getting into hunting and I came across these today when opening the front gate to drive out of the driveway. We had a lot of rain last week, and these mushroom look like they must have come up then cause they look a little old. It just started raining again today so hopefully there is some more to come over the next few days. Thinking maybe Pan Cyan?
Location: Mid north coast NSW. Australia
Habitat: Grassy moist cow paddock, growing in oldish manure
Size/colour: small with thin stem, only about 5-7cm long. Caps are round and about 1-1.5cm wide. Whitish all over with very pale tan colour towards centre of cap. Hard to tell with them this old and bruised though. Guitar pick for scale.
Gills: Dark, see pic
Bruises: Bluish turning much darker almost black when looking with the naked eye. Looks much bluer through camera /w flash etc. The whole brusing thing is confusing me a little. I remember when I grew cubes a long time ago from trusted sporeprints they would certainly bruise blue but I can never remember them getting this dark. These ones almost appear black with slight hints of dark blue towards the edge of the bruise.
Scent: Strong mushroomy scent (smells like the cubes I use to grow back in the day but stronger).
Sporeprint: Making one atm, will report back.
Peace,
Tarnwyn
First pics are just after picking sitting in my ute, the next are about 30 mins later back at home.

Niiiiiceeeeee!!!! Enjoy those bois responsibly, they are crazy potent and open a whole different dimension than most actives.
