SGFC Humidity
    #24021075 - 01/18/17 07:15 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I'm curious if my dogs hygrometer is accurate being its digital, however he can't seem to keep his humidity up past 85% in the SGFC. Perlite is moist not saturated though. Also are his  temps to low, it's been staying about 65 degrees f? He also said his paws are getting cold  on thet hardwood floor and it's only supposed to get colder, any ideas on how to keep him warm.

Also he just let me know that the hygrometer did read 99% a couple times after misting.

You can talk like a regular person on this forum.

Expect a week or two delay in fruiting in those temps. They will still do it. Make sure they get plenty of direct light.

Ditch the hygrometer. If your sgfc has 1/4" holes on all six sides with hydrated perlite and is six inches up off the ground away from walls you're golden.

Your perlite isn't wet enough if you can put a dry hand on the surface and no pieces of perlite stick to your hand. A few should.

Lol the paper towel method xD. So scientific..

OP.. it's actually impossible to measure relative humidity without first knowing your dew point, because relative humidity is directly related to it. Dew point can be changed with many things like temperature, and isn't necessarily always going to be at the exact spot it should theoretically be when compared to temperature.

Our chambers will have a much different dew point than the outside. Technically if you want to measure humidity, measure the dew point of the chamber first. But since it should be constantly fluctuating, it'll be basically impossible to get an accurate measurement. No hygrometer will accurately read rh like I'd want, besides there's really no need for one anyway.

Who knew I'd be able to use this so many times the same day Mad Season posted this.

Something like this to keep your trays off the perlite would help air flow through and increase the humidity in your chamber as well.

Let's not jump to conclusions so quickly, while some of you are rather comfortable sharing, I choose to let my dog do the barking. Plus he's a huge fan of portobellos.

Can you please tell me where you found this rack? This is exactly what I need (height included) but cannot find this model. Thank you.
