Sterilizing Agar?

Will agar be sterile if you were to steam sterilize it in a normal pot for 90 mins like brf cakes? The same recipe as the one in Pastywhytes easy agar Tek except without the pc.I have a PC just wondering if it would work.
Another question is my PC says it needs a minimum of 3 qts of water in it but when I put that much, even elevated with jar rings the bottom of my agar jars are still sitting in water so can I put less water so my filters won't get wet and my jars won't get so much condensation during the cycle? How long does each qrt of water last?

You only need about an inch of water in the PC for the agar sterilization process.

yes you can steam sterilize agar plates but most prefer a PC because it can be done in a fraction of the time

I go through a quart of water at 15psi 60 minute mark in my 22qt. There's still some left but I don't like using anything less.

My pc is a 16 quart. I think the water would last the same amount of time as your 22 quart though

if you add weight on your jiggler, it will use less water. i can run for 2 hours at 20psi on 1.5 quarts and not run dry.
