I didn't either. I haven't learned too much about honeys yet but I hear they are yummy to eat.

Maybe not you are probably right breeg, all I know is there are one metric butt ton of species of mushroom and I'm only concerned with looking for the fun ones. I do know for a fact though the one hummingbird has are not the fun ones

phish, I really like the idea of driving around and finding hundreds.  Even though those spots never fruited again, where was your best luck during that period?  grass, pine straw mulch, or  wood mulch?  Strip centers, office parks, or residential neighborhoods?

WikiPedia, Gods gift to the internet.

Per wiki:
"Several bioactive compounds have been isolated and identified from the fruit bodies. The triterpenes 3β-hydroxyglutin-5-ene, friedelane-2α,3β-diol, and friedelin were reported in 2011.[22] Indole compounds include tryptamine, L-tryptophan and serotonin.[23]"

Lots of bloggers and random threads talk about isolation attempts.

Granted Ive never read anything desirable about the compound tryptamine being used as a drug.

just about anything could potentially be "active" I assume---
basic chemistry and a Mr. Wizard enema set is enough for any drug fiend to practice.

They were everywhere. They like slopes with mulch and will spread into the landscaping below. Thr mulch or pinestraw hold in humidity or moisture and create a better environment for them to fruit, while also providing shade so the substrate not to dry out.
