Some real beauts there. I love the blue hue on the caps. Seems like only the woodland ones get that blue cap - never noticed it on the lawn ones.

So excited to add ovoids to our list of early season finds!

Some of the habitat. They were growing from a log and from the clay surrounding it, presumably growing from buried wood. This area is surrounded by several little streams and tons of woody debris.

Here's a pic of the tree which presumably dropped the wood (can't be sure of this though). Not sure what kind of tree this is, but figured it might be helpful to others.

I love how the GA thread gets nearly 10 pages deep with less than a handful of posts of actual finds.

I'm not bold enough to dose like that, especially after I had caerulescens last year.
I can't find numbers for ovoid potency. It's not listed on the erowid page, but that page also suggests caerulescens and cubes are of roughly equal potency, which is not my experience. Not sure how the rest of you guys feel about this, but ~2.5 g of wild caerulescens was comparable to 4 g of cubes (cultivated, presumably). Of course, one dude's opinion doesn't amount to much - maybe those caerulscens were more potent than most. But I seem to remember seeing other reports that the species is potent.
And thanks fellas.

Not exactly early in the season for ovoids down there, the temps are just right for them, and soon it will probably become too hot. I imagine they stop growing in GA before they stop growing up north. But this is a new discovery right? So who knows.

Nice gyms Cham. And good luck majic.
Still couldn't find morels in the woods near my house, but in the spirit of the GA thread, I'll post this pic of a non-active (not even a mushroom!).

nice find Cham. this thread is getting competitive fast
found a beaver skull, that's good luck right?

also, I have a coyote infestation behind my new house. Monday night I found a fresh deer leg with a hunk of shoulder meat still attached to it in my backyard and bagged it and threw it in the trash and then yesterday morning found an entire (different) deer carcass picked clean (except for the nose) in the same spot, swarming with flies. Had to bury the poor bastard.
what i'm trying to say is, I respect the hustle but will likely need to crush them. I don't have daily free time to always be cleaning up the fucking Serengeti when I get home from work.
