Man, I just ripped all the pine straw out of my landscape to lay beauty mulch :frown: lol. It wouldn't have mattered anyways, I didn't have a LC to lay down

So took this cluster here...

And clipped all the stems,  then dug up the entire mycelium root ball up with stem butts still attached

And translated into a flower pot filled of the same substrate.

Keeping it outside for simlilar environment. Wonder what will partake

I think they are more complex than that, the mycelial network would likely need to be larger than that. They are notoriously hard to cultivate. But I hope it works!

Hell yeah cham. Keep us posted on that. I think the myc will need time to colonize the substrate, but you might see fruits next season or the one after. I have also read that they are difficult to fruit indoors, but if the myc can colonize, I think you got a good shot outdoors.

On a related note, almost time to go guerilla with this ovoid LC.

One jar eating traditional karo LC, and the other eating an experimental wood LC (similar to NeoSporen "wood sauce". I'm glad they seem to like it. Hopefully getting them started on wood LC will make for an easier transition to the wild.

Cham that patch you dug up, be sure to replace it with suitable substrate. Like replace the food it was growing on! SO you can take it, and leave it at the same time!

Hey Chan that's a good idea, I've just been burning my stem butts and spores in several areas I think are good habitats.  But yes it could take 2 to 3 years for the mycelium to colonize to be able to fruit if you're doing it out doors. I still need to check a buddy of mine yard I spread around a few years ago. And a patch of pines I put some spores in the woods behind his house

I actually did this.  Stuffed the hole full of decomposing pinestraw

Well I'm a green thumb.  Being Landscaper gives me a whole other level of hands on learning about mushrooms sometimes.
