The mushrooms in your picture look like Panaeolus papilionaceus which is an inactive species. It would help with in situ pictures, maybe you have been picking a mix of Panaeolus spp., thus perhaps getting a P. cyanescens or two together with the inactive ones. Or maybe it was all due to placebo.
Best tip is that you learn the specific characters of the most common dung-loving species that appears in your region, and practice your identification skills by posting good pictures of all your finds on this forum, where people will line up to help you out. Don't consume anything before you're absolutely sure of what you have got.

That was my thought either getting lucky with a couple actives, or complete placebo effect bur At least for his stupidity there isn't any known toxic Panaeolus.
