In a park I'm Cherokee country where anyone in the world can see them. Half in pine straw half in Bermuda. Sprinklers kept them nice and slippery. Yesterday evening

Think how many people have walked by them without a clue. So more of a landscape type spot and not woodland?

Cham don't wash them. Your water logging the shit out of them and they will be a lot less potent. Clean the grass and pine straw off then fan dry them til they are dry to the touch. then that dirt and stuff will just flake off. Not sure if you weighed before dunking them but if not it's gonna be a lot less once they dry out. Good finds though bro! Nice job

I used to get dry rite and put them over it on a screen once they were mostly dry to suck any remaining moisture from them too.

Thanks man. I guess I shouldn't have dunked them. All I had on me when i walked up on them was a Wal-Mart bag lol. So I just dumped them in the sink.

I didn't see any like that phish. All mine were at perfect maturity or pushing to far gone. But even after washing them they are still quite potent

Go to REI, get you some stuff sacks/mesh bags for camping, they work well for on the moving mushroom picking, and wont rot your finds.
What phish said is good.
I used to only use a damp paper towel to get the stubborn clay off, but everything else came right off upon drying.
