Yep, that sounds promising cham. Did you end up eating/spreading those last gyms?
And I have a tincture being made from the others I found

Yep, this is the first time In 10 years of hunting that I have seen any before June. It usually starts a week or two into June but there have been a couple of years that I haven't had any luck at all until the fall season.

So you ovoids are out of season down here if they are indeed here?
not until temps are consistently 90 and above for like a week straight (not temp + humidity, just straight temp) if it follows the thinking up here. even then, there are always microclimates that stay a little cooler and moister as i'm sure you're seeing now that you're paying attn to it 24/7.

They're have been plenty of years with finds before June in the last ten years. Just not a ton. End of April is about the time at least a couple fimnds are made. No spring again means a sparse early season though. Gonna be speratic without some serious moisture til fall now

Every patch I have ever found has been in Cobb or Cherokee. Those also happen to be the only counties I have ever hunted in, except for a little of Bartow without any luck.

Wanted to update you guys on my ovoid project. This is looking like mycelium to me, but I'm not 100% sure.
Growth first observed 4 days after streaking the wild print to malt extract agar. These pics were taken 10 days after streaking.
I guess I need to transfer and make sure the mycelium is clean. Then it'll be time to inoculate gallons of LC and spread it all over north GA.
Got a thread going in the cultivation forum: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24315391

Not sure what ovoid mycelium looks like but if that's the spores then I'd say that's a damn good job, and hope to find some of these guy in the next few years if you are successful in your endeavor.
