That's what I've been hoping in my few spots a couple have tons of Lacrymaria and all are now black and rotting away with maybe one or two aborts beside a really slightly larger one with a broken veil.

The lacrymaria have been out for almost two months at the spot where I first found Weilii. Man do lacrymaria stink, the whole area stinks... I've had no luck where I find them though.
The pictures above were deep woodland (Cherokee Co). My legs are all scratched up and got a bit of the ivy.. I went with northgahunt description of hunting after being disappointed with not finding oysters. I do not think I will be going back in that far until great weather!
Last year drought, plus all these chemically sprayed areas have me not feeling to hot about man disturbed areas.
Plus all the pollution... you'd figure Cobb, Paulding, Bartow, and Cherokee counties could afford to clean up some of this shit... Its only been accumulating and getting worse these past 5 years. Now its overflowing into the park systems....

perhaps you could contact the park system and get annual clean ups organized? a foaf did that in my neck of the woods 20 years ago and now it's a huge thing (and a huge success).
they've expanded it to twice a year: once for trash and once for removing invasive flora like garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata), japanese honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria), autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata), etc.
oh, and never let anyone convince you to plant chinese wisteria aka Wisteria sinensis. we have a native wisteria that is just fine; Wisteria frutescens.
sorry. /rant and carry on, my peeps.

that's a shame. they also need to figure out a way to make kudzu into a biofuel. ok, i'm still not talking about actives in GA.
I wonder just how widespread ovoids are down there and if that one find was an escaped project or something of the sort. i know that northern GA has a lot of similar habitats as western and west VA so they should thrive in the chattahoochee NF. heck, that amicalola/etowah watershed south of 53, down into that Dawson Forest area should be good. i was looking at climate data for dawsonville and that area should support ovoids no problem; the season would simply be earlier than up here in the mid-atlantic region.

So you ovoids are out of season down here if they are indeed here?

And nobody having luck yet? I think some more gyms at my landscape property are pinning. One of my co-workers said he saw "a bunch of little orange dicks" growing from the wood chips

From what I saw last weekend, it seems like the cooler temps last week slowed things down a bit.
Yep, that sounds promising cham. Did you end up eating/spreading those last gyms?

It's only May 10th. I bet if you looked back at the GA actives threads for the last 10 years most of them didn't even really kick off until June.
