Even if I didn't find them I excited that they are definitely here. Just gotta keep searching in areas I know they'd be. Great work on the ovoids bro.
I feel the same way. I just gotta keeping searching these river beds and creeks down my way. Haven't had the chance to go up river yet. But if it rains like they say it's going to them I'll have the day off too go up river and check out these areas I know of that seem like great habitats or ovoid and Caerulipes as well. But not sure how lucky I'll get with the Caerulipes.
What business you in that rain gives you the day off

Couple more pics. Couldn't resist.
Hope you guys can find them in your areas. I have another spot near a creek that looks promising. Hopefully we can make these things more common in GA. It seems like there are tons of good riparian water shed type habitats for them. I think they could really take off here.

Breeg, Doc, others:
Y'all think ovoids might grow in Gordon county? This whole environment up in Calhoun reminds me of hunting in the Ohio river valley in PA, which is the PLACE for ovoids

If no one had found them there before, you should try and document the first ovoids find in Calhoun. People can speculate whether or not something grows somewhere, but only one way to prove or disprove a theory..... Get out there and look.

It's the same one I was talking about last time, with the nature trail through the subdivision. Just a bunch of grasses, weeds, and cloves. Surrounded by loblolly pine, and sweetgums mostly. And there is a creek running along adjacent to the trail of say 20 to 30 yards away.

They did recently just cut it. And do a little work on some little bridge's that go across the creeks. But that spot usually produces huge flushes. So its definitely weird for me to find only 1 both times and been a few times in between visits. But my theory is the spots just haven't had enough good ole sky water yet. Even with these storms its been spotty as hell down here.

Nice!! Went to 2 of my Weilii patches today and nothing. Even thought 15 yards away there were all kinds of caps lol it fascinates me how the ground looks so normal where they fruit. Like nothing at all grows there lol fall can't come quick enough. My girl thinks I'm obsessed, she thinks I should change my producer name to "DJ ShroomHead" lol kinda has a nice ring to it

Doesn't look like anything good. In the future, make a your own thread for ID, don't post in a confirmed active thread. Happy hunting
