Figured out the quote lol I'll take more pics tomorrow... some environment pics and stuff, any input? Land was bulldozed 4-5 years ago, cleared the brush and weeds last year, but left it untouched this season... just happened to see them, there was a ton of them dead/rotten... that's how I noticed them... most were under the leaves

There was a find in NC the other day too: http://mushroomobserver.org/298665?q=Apeb
I agree, good work out there my fellow weilii weasels.
that's pretty amazing...north of Durham, NC...my dad lives about an hr ride north of there and that gum tree + pine + red clay habitat continues up the piedmont all the way to my house in central VA. verrrry interesting; thanks for posting this.
notice in that observation that it was more of a sandy loamy soil, not red clay.
awesome work, guys. love seeing the caerulescens pics y'all are posting.

That Durham, NC find is insane. I recall another NC find from earlier this year, but I think it was really far south along the NC/GA line.
Also, wishing I had more time to check some potential spots I've been eyeing since this time last year. With all these great grass finds, I gotta at least swing by a lac-infested business park.
