A little update on my drying method, it's actually working very well. 10 hours in and they are almost cracker dry. Heater on lowest setting with a fan in a closet is a good and inexpensive route.

Hey guys if I picked from my new patch yesterday, and it is supposed to rain tomorrow, when do you think I'll have more weilii in this cold?

^ Impossible to say.
Found a few in some little satellite patches. Most of them had been eaten by critters.

Damn critters. I really would like to find some woodland weilii. I feel so sketchy looking for the Bermuda grass type.

I’ve never found woodlands. Especially like what gets posted here. I’m just amazed at where people find them. Like thenpost above you. What in the world made that person look there?!

It's funny because I've never found them in grass, but I don't really look in grass anymore. Just look for young trees in disturbed woods and you'll find them eventually. They're hard to spot right now with the leaves, but I've previously found them nearby so I know where to look.

I've looked a great deal in both. It is very difficult to find them with all the leaves too.

By disturbed woods, you mean like recently clear cut within a few years and at the base of new growth sweetgum saplings?

^Yep, just areas where they've fucked around with bulldozers and whatnot. Young sweet gums and yellow poplars around 10-15 ft tall are a good sign (and/or young pines).

I really need to look more thoroughly thu the brush near my house. We just moved into a fairly new subdivision. You can tell they plowed it all down and now it's all saplings and small pines growing all along the sidewalks. And all the homes have Bermuda grass. I've Thoroughly looked thru the grass here without any luck. Maybe the woods will treat me better.

Check the edge of the wood line like in that photo above. I haven't seen them in the thick stuff or in the actual woods or in the middle of a grass field(doesn't mean they aren't there) but more like where the grass and woods meet. They DO grow in thick grass and briars and brush and stuff but I'm pretty sure they like a bit of sun exposure. Hard to say exactly what they like or where they will be because they just grow wherever the fuck they want lol

I've even read theories about them being "parasitic" as in they feed off the root systems of pine and sweetgum where they meet. Haven't heard about the yellow poplar but that's some valuable info and I'll definitely be on the lookout now.
