I usually fan dry them for a day or two. till they are almost cracker dry. Then I put them in a desiccant chamber. Put damprid in the bottom of a container with mushrooms on a drying rack of some sort, seal it up, let it sit for a day or so. Gets them super cracker dry then just jar them.

Looks good, you could probably get away with blowing directly on the fruit with both the fan and heater. Here's a decent thread on drying: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24057248#24057248

I didn't eat any freshies... yet haha. I'm going to eat a few tonight. I went back on my way to work and found these. They're a little gnarly but I'm assuming they are weilii too? They're not bruising blue is my concern.
From this picture, how many should I eat to get a light trip? Maybe two caps?

Nice! The top ones are legit but I don't think the bottom ones are caerulescens. Joe found some weird/sterile ones this week though, so I could be wrong.

They look right but I'm not 100%. Wild caerulescens can be variable in potency in my experience. Unless you're not worried about the strength of your trip, start small and find your spot.
You can always take more but you can never take less.

I've eaten two or three fresh really small aborts and tripped lightly in waves for about 2 -3 hours. I'd say if you ate any one of those you'd have a nice trip for a few hours

..assume you're dehydrating these? You could show some folks how you're "curing" your late in season finds...especially considering how dense and wet they appear.
Good idea. Yes I do dehydrate them unless I'm lazy and keep them in the refrigerator. In the refrigerator I've seen them stay fresh for a week before.
I personally use a Walmart dehydrater called the Presto Dehydro. It heats up to 160F which is fine. I researched thoroughly and found that it won't cause any noticeable potency loss.. Of course as you said some are wet and dense so this makes everything harder.
Quality Control: At first store mushrooms in a breathable paper bag or some paper towels.
Second space out evenly in dehydrator and run it until they are cracker dry. (1-5 hours depending on the condition they start in. . . Sometimes that isn't enough so you have to go to a local grocery store and get damprid or alternatively get silica gel at a craft shop. (Use salt if you have no other option. All of these things will draw moisture out of your mushrooms quite fast.
It's best to use drying agents after pre drying with a dehydrator or fan.
Sometimes the P. Weilii will turn black while drying (even early on) . They won't lose their potency. This seems to happen more when humidity gets high in the drying area. For example an overstuffed dehydrator can become a moist heat box.

They may turn black since that looks epicly inefficient. I'd say have them at least right next to the fan to increase your results.

I had a lot of success drying with only a box fan at first. Now I cut up any that won't fit and then throw mine in the dehydrator at 160 (max) for 24 hours. They should sound like a dumping a box of toothpicks when you dump the trays and then you don't have to worry about a desiccant. I have a jar from June that still looks pristine.
