I was lucky enough to find them back in April. Seems like the same habitat where all you guys find em. Search my name and 'ovoids' for pics and info.

I think they've been found in GA a couple times, according to MO. I think there was even a find in FL posted on here a few years ago.

lol, I've spent time with them, and Origyn is right.

I would have posted this a week ago, but I had some technical issues setting up my account. Anyways, last Monday, on the 23rd, I FOUND MY FIRST WEILII!! I was hunting around Acworth and found 3 weilii under a bush, one mature and two babies. As soon as I smelled that sweet cucumber smell I knew I had struck gold. They were so beautiful, I was just staring at them in awe. It was like looking at a really beautiful nug of weed. I also found two more baby mushrooms growing under the same bush, but they appeared to be a different kind of mushroom. They had  a different texture and didn’t have the same sweet smell. No bruising, however, the stem turned black where it had been cut to do the spore print. I tried to get a spore print of the 2 little unknown mushrooms, but for some reason I couldn’t get one from them.

Sadly, circumstances did not permit me to eat my weilii fresh, and I messed up somewhere along the drying process. I let them dry for 4-5 days and went to check them two nights ago and there were maggots on them :frown: I guess I didn’t let them dry all the way before putting them in a paper bag and throwing them in a drawer. I have been really disappointed, I’m sure you guys understand how badly I wanted to cry. I don’t have words to capture the sadness I felt when I saw those maggots. I was devastated. My first find, and I didn’t even get to eat them. I should have done better research on the drying process. Oh well though! Lessons learned. That’s life. Still stoked to have found them and to know that they are out there waiting for me! Now I am familiar with them. Next time I find some, I’m definitely eating them fresh!

Stay high my friends!

I've seen the posts of the GA finds, I was really stoked when I saw your post earlier this year, and that old FL find, but there was a lot of debate about whether or not they were introduced by man as they were in mulch in a development. I just want to know how common they are here in the south, whether or not they are only found in river systems that are connected to the rivers where they are common in the north. Or if they are taking hold here in the south because people brought them here, or if they've been under everyone's noses the whole time. I'm on the Carolina coast and I'm curious if they can be found here. It seems plausible because they are found all the time in the Chesapeake area. Only way to know is to go out and look, or study the flows of rivers and explore the likely candidates.

Had a great halloween hunt. Found many beastly cubes. Wonderful. And then... my first mature copelandia cyanescens patch!
Anyways homies, here's the dank cyans and cubes.
