you have a citation for this statement? something to back it up besides anecdote? TIA.
ETA: i know that if i eat one 1g active mushroom i get less actives than if i eat one 2.5g mushroom.

Also I misspoke active ingredient slows way down after veil tears bease it is more about getting the spores out
Uh, I guess I read your sources differently than you did?

Also, you're just linking to threads on other forums which contain anecdotal evidence at best. If you're going to link to a source it should be a peer reviewed study instead of conversation and speculation.
I'm not trying to come down on you or be a dick. Make sure to back up your info.

Kinda hard to find peer reviewed substance on the topic I mean if I had acess to a lab again I could give you my measurements but college was a while ago. I'm not saying that they are not potent shrooms I was trying to say what rr was saying that there is no point to letting them grow further than the veil breaking except to spread spores.
Also I would like to point out that is 3 different sources with 3 different groups that have arrived to the same conclusion that's about as close to peer review as you're going to get.
I know you're not trying to be a dick, I was not trying be in the first place. But it seems like this is info that should be know to new hunters as far as when and when not to pick a patch.
I don't know, I'm still new myself. Ask raz, doctorG, and cham, as to what are their thoughts.

Found these today. Im waiting on a book for ID but i thought i would share them. I dont think they are active. Id like to be able to identify any mushroom that i see. I love to cook so im out for spiritual and culinary enlightenment..lol
Well i think i got one identified. The big one is a chlorophyllum molybdites i believe. Im thinking the small one is paneoulus but it doesnt have a veil like some of the pics ive seen..
Sorry to intterupt the debate..lol.

I left a bunch of pins at my sewer trail patch on Monday. I thought they were just going to dry up but I was definitely mistaken. Every single one is so freaking hearty. There are so many pins coming up that are the fattest little chodes I have ever seen!!! It was like a god damn smurf village! I also took a couple of habitat shots.

I can't say have ever been worried about potency or dry weight with these.

With chemical levels differing amongst individual fruits in the same flush isn't this all just a lot of conjecture?

If you tested a bunch and proved it one way or another I could just come back at you and say "yeah but, sample size"

Not questioning ya cham but you dont think those look a little more like weilii? They could very well be atlantis just saying they look a little more on the smallish caerulescens side to me.kinda impossible to know without a scope of them. Awsome find none the less buddy

I don't know phish, those one Chan found were very stirate around the margin, I've seen that in some Caerulescens, but not quite as defined, as well as the very thin stipe compared to the Caerulescens. But looks like its be worth scoping though.

thanks for the links!
the first two links were interesting, but all i saw was a bunch of anecdotal information, a lot of back and forth about caps being stronger than the stem, and no scientific information about the mushrooms not producing actives after the veil breaks.
i know when i was in 7th grade way back when, it was common for people to say everything from 'the caps fuck you up waaaayyyy more than the stems' to 'don't even bother with the stems because they don't get you fucked up, maaannnn'. more or less, it was all bullshit. there is a high variance from wild mushroom to wild mushroom in terms of potency, but nothing scientifically showing (so far) that actives production ceases at breaking of the veil.

i can almost go along with that, maybe, but i'd really like to see something scientific to back it up.
thanks again for the links.
ETA: Mr Piggy beat me to it. i should have read on. anyway, thx for trying and i'll butt out of this awesome GA Actives 2017 thread. sweet pics, everyone.

You all are killing it you guys. Did I score... Found where I have sprayed Ovoid spores for the last 2 years. All the Mushies are the same kind of mushroom with a purpleish-pink spore print. As you can see the spores on one of the mushrooms in the next to the last picture. Pea ce & Love
